WARNING ABOUT THESE PEOPLE! We picked this place despite some bad reviews - we deeply regret! Food is terrible and overpriced. DONT BOOK THEIR TOURS as they’forget’ all promises (even written confirmations!) immediately after you have paid the money. Big warnings against these people!

This is a Hayat not a Hyatt! My mistake when booking. All the hotels in this area are small boutique hotels. If you want 4/5 star hotels it won’t be here. I arrived at 2 am in the morning down windy unmade up streets. My first thought on arrival was “what the h**l have I done!”. This is clearly not a 4 star hotel more like a 2.5-3 stars. It would be very easy to pick faults with the hotel but when you turn up to breakfast (which was excellent Mediterranean food) and you are look directly at the Sphinx (so close you could almost touch it) with the three Pyramids towering above you, all is forgiven. That experience every meal is worth an extra star. The hotel appears to be family run and they will get you anything you want. The tours they organised were excellent with a private guide and not overly expensive (while with him I was not harassed by locals). Having chatted to other tourists staying here and other hotels I gathered that this is one of the best if not the best hotel in this area (with the Pyramid views). It also has one of the best if not the best views of the Pyramids and Sphinx. I came to Egypt to spend new year outside the Pyramids hopefully with some fireworks. This hotel delivered the experience I wanted with spades. There is a clear choice here to either choose a more luxurious hotel and come to the Pyramids on a tour, or stay locally and get the full daily Pyramid experience, but to do so you have to lowers your hotel aspirations slightly.. for me, I am happy that I made the right choice. I enjoyed my holiday here immensely. Oh yes, the pillows were excellent and plenty of them (this is a real bug bearer of mine, so many hotels are bad at this). Oh yes and I got a free Pyramid light show every night.

Although I would not advise staying overnight in Giza (it's much better to see Giza in its splendor during the day than at night, when you unfortunately run into a whole bunch of crazy traders and animal cruelty), the hotel is nice. The staff is very intrusive, sometimes even annoying with tips, but the rooms are big and mostly clean. Unfortunately, the internet did not work for two of the three days we spent there. Breakfast is pretty bad, but you get free water, tea and coffee. The absolute biggest advantage of the hotel is the view from the top. I will never forget such a beautiful scene.

I came in expecting a simple hotel, but this place fails at even the basics. The hotel supposedly has a 4 star rating. This is frankly a joke. If I'm being generous it may scrape 2 stars on a good day. It does have a good view from the roof top restaurant, but this is the only redeeming feature. We arrived after dark on our first night and were accompanied to our room. We had paid for an 'upgraded' room to include a view of the pyramids. When opening the curtains in day light there was no such view. I queried this at the front desk that morning and they advised it was 'a mistake' and agreed to move us to our correct room. We have not been offered a refund for the amount we were overcharged for the inferior room that night. I also asked for the WiFi code. This was provided me but only after the receptionist gave me the hard sell on one of their tours, which was over-priced compared to those offered by other firms. They were very insistent it was simply not possible to see the pyramids on foot. We ignored them, not wanting to spend too much of our holiday subjected to someone elses timescales. We had a lovely day at the pyramids, on foot and it was perfectly manageable (so not impossible at all). The WiFi (which is what I really did need) did not work at all in either our original room or our new room. This is contrary to the signage in their reception and on booking.com, where I booked this hotel. I could connect to the WiFi in their reception area and roof top, buy it was WiFi in name only as there was no Internet connection. We were not the only guests having this issue, over our stay we saw several others having the same issues connecting. A few years ago WiFi was seen as a bit of a luxury, whereas nowadays it is absolutely essential. The result of us not being able to access the Internet at our hotel was us being unable to book into our flights and finalise the tours we had arranged. This directly impacted our holiday and we missed out on activities we had planned. I am livid and would never have booked this hotel had they been honest about their Internet situation. I am making a separate complaint to booking.com about the false information on their listing. However, it was not only the lack of Internet that was an issue. On our first night we were a little tired and opted to have our evening meal in the hotel restaurant. The service was abysmal. We only ordered very basic food items (a sandwich and some chicken) but it took and hour and a half for this to be served to us. This wasn't due to their kitchen being busy - there were only a handful of others in there and most were drinking only. Whatsmore, rhe 'chef' had plenty of time to chat with the other staff and sit around. As mentioned, our room was an upgrade to include Pyramid views. Yes we could see the pyramids... they were behind the large vent and satellite dish on the adjacent buildings. In our room we had a broken light fitting, with only half the bulbs working. The only switch to the light was by the door. There was a horrible yellow liquid sat in the bottom of the fridge. The sink in the bathroom leaked badly both at the tap (faucet) and at the base leaving a big puddle in the room. There was a lot of limescale around the shower fitting. There was a TV in the room. Though I have no real wish to watch TV on holiday I do like a little bit of background noise whilst getting ready in the morning. This didn't work in either room. There was a telephone on the bedside cabinet, but why that was there is anyone's guess, as it wasn't plugged in and didn't even have a wire to do so. In our first room the toilet seat was unattached from the toilet. I could go on, but I will cry if I go on. I am so upset at how this appalling hotel has so negatively impacted our holiday. And finally, it transpires the hotel took payment via a neighbouring businesses card machine, leaving us unable to apply for a charge back from our credit card provider for services not as advertised.

We stayed at this hotel on a small group tour and were entranced by the view from the rooftop restaurant both by day and by night when there was a lovely view of the sound and light show. Our room was clean and comfortable, but we failed to get any hot water in the bathroom during our stay. All of the hotel staff were friendly, helpful and charming. The food served was plentiful and enjoyable. Breakfast was a highlight. The hotel is located very close to the Giza ticket office and entrance. There are cash points just round the corner, plus shops and restaurants.

The best thing that this hotel has is the view. It is breath taking! They also treat the guests very well. The staff was Very helpful with the bags. And a very important thing: it was my dad’s birthday and the bought him a cake. It was a very good surprise and I really appreciated. What they need to improve is the breakfast and the tour they provide. On one hand, The breakfast does not have variety and the food is not appealing or tasty. On the other hand, the tour they provide is to expensive and they spent most of the time taking us to stores so we could buy products as clothes and perfumes. This time should be spent to see other attractions or to lunch in a quiet place, instead of eating sandwiches in the van, on our way to buy perfumes. I was still sick in the next day. I was also disappointed with the room. I booked a room with pyramids view and I had a building in front blocking the view. The price was the double. It does not compensate. This is a good hotel to stay a night or two.

The staff at this hotel are incredible people. They are so helpful in every way and go out of their way to make sure you have a very comfortable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Giza or Cairo. The breakfast in the morning was top-of-the-line and the hotel management and staff are world class!

We've stayed at The Hayat Pyramids View hotel for four nights. The location is perfect, the rooftop restaurant has amazing, unforgettable views and we were watching sunsets over the pyramids every day. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the restaurant's manager Saber greeted us every morning with a smile and true hospitality. The room was clean. I would definitely stay there again and I would recommend it to my friends.

I think the negatives outweighs the positives in this place. Positive: Great view of the Pyramids from the terrace & our bedroom. The evening food was ok and reasonably priced. We ate the bbq chicken. Negatives: everything else! For example, the breakfast was poorly presented and the cutlery was spread out on a table with flies all over it. Our check-in was delayed (a long time) The bedsheets appeared dirty with other peoples hair in. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. You get hounded when you step out the hotel, you even get hounded in the lobby by the people that work there. We won’t go back to this hotel.

Sugar Queen arranged our stay at the Hayat Pyramid View. Upon arrival staff super friendly and so welcoming and so hospitality. They offer free coffee and tea or water upon arrival. They have a restaurant in the roof top with a la carte meals and price is very good. And food is good too. Our room was in the third floor with the most amazing view of the pyramids. Rooms were clean. Ruby was especially the nicest employee would help us outside hotel to get food and souvenirs, very nice and friendly. Also the front desk manager was very nice and welcoming as well. Would recommend hotel.
