Great hotel if you want to be near the Giza pyramids . The staff is friendly, it is clean and comfortable with a couple of restaurants that are ok on site. The grounds are beautiful and my favorite part is when u get a clear view of the pyramids. My only complain is the breakfast while they had many options for Egypt you would expect food with flavor it was really bland and the bread was always cold and hard even the Egyptian bread. The restaurant staff wasn’t really helpful or willing to make you have a great experience. Other than that the hotel was a great stay.

Wow! One of the best Marriott in the World! If you want to stay in luxury in Cairo, stop looking and book the room! We stayed here for 6 nights and it was amazing!! As a Diamond member, we were upgraded to the Grand Deluxe room with separate tub and shower and garden view balcony. The room was huge and very luxurious! We also had executive lounge access where a lot of appetizers were served 17h30 - 19h30 each day and drinks (beer and wine) until 20h30. This was perfect as we didn’t have to find dinner as the food and drinks were great! The pool was one of the largest pools I’ve ever seen and very nice view. The cocktails at the pool were expensive though for Cairo standards (26€ for 2) so just drink at the lounge! And the breakfast - wow - I normally skip breakfast but could not pass on the opportunity to eat everyday with the pyramids in the background. The omelet station was a good way to start a long day exploring Cairo. Almost everyday there was a wedding at the hotel which was nice to see the gardens decorated for these beautiful weddings! Perfect stay in Cairo. Tips to survive Cairo outside the 4 layers of security and luxury of the hotel: - Give yourself time in Cairo! Most people rush in 1 day. It’s not enough time. Cairo and the surrounding areas are huge! Plan for a day at the Giza Pyramids and Egyptian museum. Another day for Saqqara, Dahshur, and Memphis (our favorite part of the trip). Another day to visit Coptic area and Egyptian Civilization Museum (highly recommend this museum if you want to see the royal mummies). Another day for the Islamic area in Cairo with many mosques. Another day to go to Alexandra. The hotel is a good base for all of this! - Book a private tour for the Pyramid and Saqqara days! Please don’t use a jumbo bus tour guide as that will ruin the experience. Private Guides here are good prices and take their time. Use TripAdvisor and see my other reviews for a Cairo guide recommendation — amazing and made a good friend! We didn’t book anything through the hotel but they offered many excursions. - Use an Uber to get around the rest of the days. It’s about 3$ for a 45 minute ride to Cairo. 30$ for a 3-hour ride to Alexandra and can ask the driver to stay there and wait until you want to return for the same price (we didn’t pay for waiting but gave a big tip - 80$ total for day). 10$ for the 1 hour ride to airport. The hotel will offer to call the Uber driver too in order to ensure they are coming through security OK. - Major Uber advice! Change setting to pay in Cash!! If you try to pay with credit card, the Uber driver will drive in circles and wait for you to cancel in order to collect the cancellation fee (thanks to the guide for this advice!). - For short trips, be adventurous and use the tuk tuk vehicles. Negotiate upfront and should be about 20EGP (0.65$) for any ride in the city or near hotel. - If you do decide to take taxi, negotiate price before getting in!! Divide their offer by 3 and then walk away when they decline and they’ll normally take the offer especially when there is a group of other taxi waiting! Don’t pay full price. Taxi are at the roundabout after security. Taxi from airport should be no more than $15 but have to negotiate. - After you have been nonstop in Cairo, you can go to Luxor to see more ancient Egypt. OR can go to Sharm el-Sheik and relax on the beach, like we did! And save Luxor for a return trip to Egypt. Enjoy Egypt and safe travels! Stay here, you won’t regret it!!

This is definitely the best hotel in Giza. The pyramid view from the hotel is probably the best in the city, except the places inside the pyramid territory. The service is very good, especially the housekeeping on my floor. The staff were very nice and friendly. Especially Nageh who always smiled and did nice things from towels in the room. Overall the stay was very good

The Marriott Services is legendary here and they went above and beyond to make our stay here, safe and fun and helpful. The food is great, the evening entertainment was a complete surprise and added that nice touch to honest charm...But its the view and complete access to the Giza Plateau that cannot be beaten. My recommendation to anyone at any age will appreciate the ability to leave the property and walk up a small hill to the entrance to the Pyramids. You'll never regret this as your starting point. Not to mention access to new Museum in 2023, and the pool amenities etc. The BEST CHOICE you can make; even though its not brand new--that's the charm I loved about it!!

Very nice property with extensive grounds and numerous restaurants and fantastic staff. Old world charm yet modern. Highly recommend paying the bump for the full Pyramid view and inclusive breakfast. The buffet is one of the best with an assortment of foods from different cultures. You won’t need lunch after this breakfast

Yes, it's worth the $$ for pyramid views. Get to breakfast early (or late) for a table in front of the pyramids. Upgrade to a room with club access-the evening appetizers and cocktails were more than enough for a meal with a fun, lively atmosphere and excellent service-a really nice place to unwind after a hot and dusty day touring around. Service was great, pool was beautiful, hotel rooms were very well appointed. This is a popular hotel for weddings, so be advised that there may be a dj until midnight, but the pyramids are so close they look fake-it's pretty unbelievable. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.

We visited the hotel for a business breakfast. The organisation was great, with our tables arranged in a way to have the great view of the Pyramids. The variety and quality of the buffet was very good. The staff was very friendly and eager to help. I would like to recognise Khaled for his customer service!

This property is amazing!! We stayed at the Mena House for the last two days of our trip - and I am glad we did. We had a pyramid view room that was well worth the money - it was incredible to see the big pyramid from our room. And speaking of the room, it was large, clean, and beautiful. The bed was very comfortable as well. The breakfast buffet was great as well, with another spectacular view of the pyramids as well. The service was top notch with everyone we had contact with. Overall I would give this hotel the highest marks possible.

The Mena House is the coolest hotel that I have ever stayed in! If you are going to Egypt, the Mena House is the only choice! It is super safe and has the most amazing view of the pyramids from everywhere in the hotel grounds. It is right in Giza, at the pyramids plateau. There is a lot of security in that area and there are several gates and bomb sniffing dogs to get into the gates. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are luxurious! We had a budget room that overlooked the pool (not the pyramids)- but it was still very nice! The pool area is beautiful and you can order food and drinks while you lounge. On the other side of the pool, is a large park area where you can see the pyramids. There is a restaurant where we ate breakfast and dinner each night overlooking the pyramids. It is called the 139 restaurant and the food was fantastic! The prices were very good for such a nice restaurant with an amazing view. You cannot drink the tap water or brush your teeth with the tap water (if you are from America), but the hotel provides you with plenty of bottled waters. Everyone was so friendly and helpful at the hotel. Lots of celebrities have stayed there: Winston Churchill, Bill Clinton, Princess Diana, Will Smith, even Joseph Stalin. There is a lot of history in the hotel and an amazing view! I highly recommend the Mena House for your stay in Egypt!

This is a average Marriott in a great location. Grounds are beautifully landscaped. Pool area is a great place to hang outside. Gym is a well-equipped and good sized. The Great Pyramid can be seen behind the property walls. Pyramid view room was OK. We needed to lean out the balcony to see the Pyramid. The property is trying to be more upscale but misses the mark. Staff is trained to say Good Morning, Good Afternoon, of Good Evening, but they confuse the time of day. I get it’s their second language. The 139 Pavilion Restaurant provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast is the typical buffet. Other meals are off the menu, food is OK. Did have an issue with lunch one day, took over 20 minutes to take my order and another 30 minutes to receive it. Totally unacceptable for a restaurant that was empty. Per their attempt to be more upscale, they asked me “how was the meal”. I told them the food was OK, but it took way too long. They really did not know how to respond, and I got a deer in the headlights look. Another example of a lack of training. We went to the Alfredo Italian Restaurant for dinner. The food was quite good, again the service was a little amiss. Overall, I would stay at the property again to see the Great Pyramid. Staff really means well and wants to make sure all guests have a wonderful experience, but management needs to provide more training to staff to address issues if this property want to be a 5 star hotel.
