I traveled to Egypt with my sister in October 2001 - which was just after the 9-11 incident. We had booked a regular room without Pyramid view, however, we were upgraded to a better room, because the tourism in Egypt was severely affected bat that time, so they had many cancellations. The view from our room was unbelievably overwhelming. The... More

Don't leave Cairo without experiencing Mena House. Best buffet breakfast ever . Afternoon tea with Giza Pyramids as back drop, and most accommodating and friendly services throughout their various restaurants. Unfortunately, their golf course was closed, otherwise...

The hotel was very clean and had very friendly and helpful staff. The restaurants were delicious, and there's also a bank and several gift shops on the premises. It ciders a very big area and is amazing decorated, not surprising since it was a palace. My only complaint is that there is no WiFi in the rooms; you have to... More

My family and I, spent four nights at the lovely Mena House Hotel, which surpassed my expectations. The hotel is beautiful, well appointed, spotlessly clean, good security, excellent service, beautiful restaurants, the food was great and the view is amazing. We spent the extra money and had pyramid view rooms, well worth it. The gardens are really nice and it... More

This historic hotel is where U.S. Presidents and Prime Minister Churchill stayed. The historical section is closed for the next few years while it undergoes refurbishment lets hope that it is sensitive to its glorious past. A wing off the original lobby has suites only with large balconies. Most of the rooms are in the new (only 2 -3 yrs... More

En route to South Africa, my wife and I had a 17-hour layover in Cairo and decided to visit the Mena House Hotel for breakfast prior to seeing the pyramids. We had stayed here 5 years ago when it was managed by the Oberoi Group and had an amazing time. The hotel was originally a hunting lodge built for King... More

Only 700 meters from the Great Pyramid,I spent 2 nights upon arrival on my 24 day itinerary and 5 nights again before leaving for Cairo airport. I stayed in the Garden wing of the Mena House Hotel, the rooms were large and comfortable with a view of the pool. Wi-Fi was spotty and only available on the ground floor lobby, The... More

The Mena House Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Cairo, but don't let that scare you. It's beautifully kept and fabulously decorated. My husband and I booked the Presidential Suite (a tip from friends) and WOW, you open one of the balconies and you have a full view of the Giza Pyramids right in front of you. We... More

This hotel has a long history and has evolved to become a large complex, with a choice of restaurants, gardens, a spa and outdoor pool. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished, spacious and luxurious in every detail. Staff are courteous and service is generally efficient. The view of the largest pyramid from an outdoor breakfast table, or in evening light makes... More
