I rate this hotel a 3. Staff are ok and the location is fine. The whole place looked extremely tired with things either broken or not working such as lifts and wifi in rooms. The shower water was also lukewarm throughout our stay. Breakfast was acceptable.

We stayed here as part of a tour we did. I found the hotel to be in disrepair. Only 1 of the 2 elevators was working and the one that was working felt very unsafe. The inside door didn't close so the building wall was exposed as it traversed the floors. If you were too close you could be injured. The sliding glass doors from the balcony didn't lock in either of our two rooms. Our toliet kept clogging. When we called for maintenance, he used a mop to push fecal matter down and then proceeded to rinse it in our shower! We were appalled. The next day the maid was using the same mop on the floors. The maintenance man should be fired as that is absolutely unsanitary.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights at the start of my G Adventures tour at the end of October 2022. I arrived very late in the evening (after midnight) and I was checked in professionally and quickly, and helped to my room. I found the hotel to be clean and basic, with friendly staff. The included breakfast was a nice touch, and eating with a view of the Nile in the mornings was very nice. My room was basic and a little outdated. The towels are small, the shower had warm water but not great water pressure. I had a very small window and no balcony, and my room was close to the cleaning staff closet so there was lots of chatter which I could easily hear from inside. The restaurant charged quite a lot for bottled water compared to the grocery stores, but was one of the few places you could get a glass of wine. If I were to return to Cairo I may not choose this hotel again. Of the hotels that we stayed at on our tour, this was the most basic.

Staying 3 nights at start of a tour. Budget hotel with very friendly staff and all the basics were good including breakfast, bedroom and shower. Concierge answered all questions and very helpful in arranging taxis and cautioning re.hucksters. Small issues in room were speedily attended to by friendly staff.

Stayed in this hotel as part of Gadventure tour. Arrived late in the morning, and staff were there to greet me, check me in, no hassles. Room was grand, I'm not fussed as long as I have a bed to sleep in, but those with high standards may not be happy. Breakfast upstairs was fab, great choice, chef there to make omlettes for you in the morning... yummy. Bonus view of the Nile from rooftop too. Restaurant was lovely downstairs, and only place in this area that you can get an acholic drink. Staff were lovely and very helpful.

This is a basic budget hotel and is probably fine if you are looking for something cheap for a night. I have no idea how the price compares to similar hotels nearby because we stayed there with a gadventures tour. Staff was amazing! All of them were great. Rooms were basic. Our bathroom door didn’t close so that is probably a problem if you don’t want your roommate watching you shower or poop. Towels were hand towels so we had to use the camping towel we brought with us. It has a tv but we couldn’t get it to work but that may have been our fault. Beds were firm but that was fine for us so we slept well. They did have a restaurant/bar (with alcohol) in the hotel so that was convenient. It was WAY too smoky for us so we just ordered food and drinks for our room. The breakfast area on the top floor has a view of the Nile so it was nice to eat up there. Before coming, I looked online to see which amenities were available but when we arrived, we didn’t find many of them: WiFi: they technically said they have Wi-Fi, but none of us could get it to work. We even went to buy SIM cards thinking that was the problem but that didn’t help at all. As soon as we would leave the hotel, our phones would start working again so I’m not sure why nothing would work there. We even turned off Wi-Fi to try to use data and it still wouldn’t work. Minibar: there wasn’t a minibar. They had a small refrigerator but it didn’t get cold so it was useless. Pool: we were told there wasn’t a pool when we got there, but it mentions one on Trip Advisors. Not sure why it says that. I went back and forth trying to decide between 2 or 3 stars. But Several people in our group had numerous problems with their rooms and the lack amenities that were advertised made me give 2 stars.

This was our first hotel stay in Egypt, and chosen by our tour company. The room had 3 single beds, TV, (no English channels) air conditioning and a view of a side alley. Beds were firm. Bathroom had a shower. Rooftop breakfast area had lovely view of the Nile.

Basic hotel. Room quite large with enough space but the whole building could use some renovations. Walls are dirty, broken tiles in the bathroom, leaking toilets. Staff is welcoming and helpful so it is a plus. Air conditioning works fine in the room. Great location with ATMs and supermarket a few minutes walk. Breakfast was beyond basic and not that great. I would recommend to take a room without breakfast and go somewhere else for it.

Stayed in this hotel twice as part of a group tour, start a d end of tour. By the end of the second visit I was quite charmed by it! The hotel is located in what feels like quite a residential area, one street back from the Nile. If you come out of the lobby and turn right there is little shop on the corner that is great for snacks and cool drinks. The streets behind the hotel have a larger supermarket and a domino's pizza takeaway which was handy on our last night. The downstairs cafe in the hotel is useful for coffee and beer (ask for Stella), especially when we stayed in Ramadan and there was nothing open in the immediate area. Another plus is you can walk easily to metro stations, which we used yo get to Coptic churches. The lobby area has some seating and the reception desk plus two lifts. There are also stairs to all floors. Our first room was a middle floor with the bonus balcony looking out to the Nile. The room was large and clean. The bathroom was an odd arrangement, with a corner shower that required you to step over a foot high edge to get into it. That said, it worked with good power and hot water. There was also a fridge. The second time we stayed we were on the top floor in what the bell boy described as the 'honeymoon' suite! It had clearly been refurbished compared to the first room and met more Western standards. This time there was a modern shower room with no high jump! There was a balcony again and a fridge. In essence it was the same room just nicely decorated! I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which turned out to be a fairly standard Egyptian breakfast; eggs (boiled, fried or an omlette), cheese triangles, flat bread, cake. Great views from the restaurant on top floor. Overall, clean, great location and helpful staff. Give it a chance and I'm sure you will see the Egyptian charm.
