I have stayed in many budget hotels around the world and this was one of the worst… The check in was extremely slow, seem to take ages! While I was waiting, I went to get a coffee in the hotel cafe and I didn’t have change. Half an hour after going to my room… the manager was aggressively knocking on my door! I asked him to charge it to my room… I hated that he went up to my bedroom, it felt threatening. The hotel is dirty, and smoking is allowed inside. The building smelt of stale cigarettes. And I noticed that at breakfast people were smoking at their table. The breakfast is grim, poor quality Wires were loose in the bedroom, the TV wasn’t working, there’s no hairdryer, no hot water. I rang the reception but they didn’t seem interested. I’m sure they’re better hotels nearby in Cairo. I don’t recommend staying here.…
We have stayed in Indiana hotel several times now and often for a duration of more than 2 months each time. Located on a street in Dokki a couple mins walk from the Nile. Excellent location in cairo an Uber a few mins away to everything. It is our home when we visit Cairo. It’s a safe, clean, spacious rooms and most of the rooms are renovated. It’s like your home. They also have a small swimming pool and rooftop cafe. Basic breakfast included. Reception areas with sofas and Wi-Fi to chill out. If you just want somewhere clean and safe to sleep and relax then this is your place , visa and cash accepted. Amazing friendly and welcoming staff and all the doormen etc Will do anything to help u :)
We had to wait 1 hour before they gave us a room. They have given me the wrong room then at the end they did not have the room I have booked on Booking. Com when I questioned they said that I could have gone somewhere else, as was late and travelling with children I had to accommodate. The room fell apart and dirty. I would not recommend it.
Although the hotel and the rooms are obviously old and need some maintenance, but for a budget hotel it is acceptable, it is situated in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, surrounded with many embassies, and very close to the nile, I have to mention too that the staff members are very friendly and helpful.
Its cheap but never go there if you wanna stay healthy, this hotel is so so dirty, just horrible. Photos are just big lie. Im so angry and disspponted. They dont even know how to clean rooms, they just wanna take money.
We stayed here for 1 month in August, and now we returned again. Indiana Hotel is a great option for affordable accomodation in Cairo. Located in Dokki, a pleasant area with lots of shops, cafes, pharmacies nearby, and the river nile 2 min walk away with beautiful restaurants. The best thing about the hotel is the spacious, big rooms, comfy beds. Large fridge, TV, lots of seating area in the room, Also they include breakfast which makes it better value, you can expect things like Egyptian bread, fresh salad, falafel, and free coffee or tea. The staff are all friendly, accommodating. If you are looking for basic, clean accomodation it's perfect. located in a nice area of Dokki. Recommend cafe Antakh 2min walk away.
That’s the first hotel from which we had to leave without shower. In the morning the hotel just switched off hot water.. 4 calls to reception, multiple promises to switch it on .. send somebody to check.. etc.. more than hour of waiting - finally we had to check out and leave without shower, as we had appointment with doctor and couldn’t wait longer. Not recommended.. Kind regards, Anna

Staying in Indiana hotel during my visit to Cairo was a perfect choice. The hotel is suitable for relaxing indoors, while there is always something to do around the city. The staff is nothing but helpful and friendly. Highly recommended!
