I had a short amount of time on a stopover while enroute from the US to South Africa. If I only saw one thing on this trip, I decided it would be the Giza pyramids. After hours of internet searching, trying to figure out if there was a functional public transit system that could get me from an airport hotel out to the pyramids, I finally gave up and booked here. Looking at the price, i expected a cot in the corner of some youth hostel where my belongings would be ransacked. What I got was quite the opposite. Within about 30 minutes of making my reservation, the owner emailed me to offer transport to and from the hotel along with tours. Of course there would be an extra cost, but when I figured out how to convert Egyptian Pounds into US Dollars, I realized it was a bargain. Rahoma sent someone to the airport for me and arranged for me to see several weeks worth of sights in just two short days. The room was comfortable, but not luxurious. However, I could see the pyramids from my balcony. Like...the actual pyramids...from my balcony. They weren't way off in the distance, they filled my view. It was utterly amazing. The warm air blew through the room when I left the door open and the sounds of the Imams calling people to prayer from the many, many mosques in the area reminded me where I was and made me feel like I was experiencing the real Egypt.

A spectacular view on the Pyramids without to pay excessive price. The owner is very kind and polite. You can find rooms of different seizes. All rooms are on the same floor (4th) but there is no lift ! You have access to the roof where you can take a rest or drink something. The view is wonderful and you can see the sound and light from this place. If you want to go to Cairo itself, it is easy to find taxi or microbus :o) Sure, I'll go back there :o)

I recently stayed at Pyramids Plateau for two weeks. What can one say....location, location, location. Directly across the road from the Sphinx entrance to the Great Pyramids of Giza, ability to watch the Sound and Light Show from the delightful rooftop balcony, shops and restaurants at the front door. It might not be the Hilton, but the host Rahoma and his lovely wife will look after you very well, catering to any of your needs whatever they may be. I rarely ventured too far from the Hotel as it is so peaceful to simply sit on the balcony watching the pyramids. Also the most interesting things you see happening on the street below, watching the daily life of the local people. If you want luxury? Don't stay here. If you want a true Egyptian experience and a view you would normally pay for? You have found it here,
