If you want to immerse yourself in a true Nubian experience then you have to stay here. Bassam is incredibly kind and helpful, almost reminds me of Jesus. There is plenty of good food, company and experiences to keep you occupied. Bassam will arrange everything for you. Highly recommend the camel ride that brings you to the top for the best views of Aswan.

Staying in aragheed guesthouse is a unique experience in Aswan, it was a deep dive into the Nubian culture, history, desert, music, arts, heritage and food. Living in the western side of aswan is a true spiritual experience, it's very calm and relaxing to stay there away from the hustle and bustle of the city, however, the local ferry of Aswan is a five minutes walking distance from aragheed house to visit the city. Bassam and mahmoud are super friendly hosts, they were very helpful, honest and caring about making our stay remarkable. The house is very clean and calm, the roof space with the desert view is magically stunning, it's beautifully decorated to reflect the original nubian style. The house is overlooking the famous heritage museum "Tombs of nobles", and the historical site "Qobbet al-hawa", it was very near from the house to hike the desert mountain and enjoy the incredible view of the nile river and Aswan. We spent the nights listening to Bassam "the house owner" and his friends playing ethnic and local soulful music, talking about the nubian history and arts while having the delicious local coffee "Gabana" and the grilled dates. The breakfast was so delicious and various, I loved that they put bananas and oranges in the roof and the manual squeezer is available for guests to make fresh orange juice whenever they like. Bassam suggested and organized amazing trips for us. we went for nile kayaking, camel ride and sand boarding in the desert and it was all unforgettable memories for us especially with his important tips and advices. He let me use his bike to take morning tours in the western bank , and he lent me his umbrella to spend a day on barbar beach. He told us many tips that made our trips comfortably amazing. I never felt like a guest, it was like home for me and my family that I doubt I would stay in any other places in aswan in the future.

Nubian kingdom Aragheed is one of few places that will resonate immediately in your heart ....you cross the nile to reach to gharb Aswan (west Bank) to find yourself in the middle of true nubian atmosphere .... Bassam such great Host He will make sure that your stay will exceed your expectations we went with his speed boat to other islands on the nile and he facilitated all my itinerary till my transfer to the airport. Place is very clean , cosy and comfortable you feel like home. You will not have only a beautiful pictures and lovely time but a piece from history of the region and the rich Nubian culture. Tip “ don’t miss trying the Gabanah 😉

MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE! And I don’t say that lightly.....I’ve done some cool things in my time and seen my fair share, but nothing will ever compare to my stay and experience here at Bassam’s place. It’s literally heaven on earth. I’ve been on a recent backpacking trip for the last 5 months, 12 countries on this trip so far, and I would trade it all for just this experience. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT! But the love, friendship, and hospitality is what makes the trip ever so special. I made a promise to myself, that I will definitely be back, and I hope you make the decision of your life and stay here as well. You won’t regret it! Thank you Bassam and friends, you all have a special place in my heart.

Such an amazing place. The host bassam is so friendly and they welcome you with open arms. Your on the West Bank but it’s just a 5 pounds ferry ride across the river to everything. If your looking to relax and get away from the noise and just be with good people, this is the place for you. Also the WiFi is great ha. The only reason I’m coming back to Aswan is just to stay here again!
