We just got back from Egypt and wanted share our experience of Mercure Luxor. On the outside of this Hotel they are happy to tell you the theme of the Hotel is Ramses II. This could be a subliminal message conditioning guests to expect rooms probably not been decorated since this Pharos reign? We booked an "Family of four" overnight...

The location on the corniche is hard to beat, the hotel is within easy reach of all the main sights of Luxor/Karnak. The rooms are 4*, spacious and clean with satelite television. The windows don't close completely which may be a problem during the summer months. Staff were friendly for the most part, although pool staff were outright rude at...

Did a two day trip to Luxor through First Choice and had the pleasure of staying at The Mercure Hotel. One night was enough. If you want to stay there to do the sights around Luxor it's ok. The service from the staff in the little restaurant was, the sort of service you would receive from Basil Faulty on a...

Terrific location on the Corniche just a few hundred metres from Luxor Temple and a short cab ride to Karnak, and ideal for crossing the Nile to the Valley of the Kings. But for a Mercure this was a disappointment. Small rooms in need of a refit, but clean and tidy. Food offer was respectable. Probably one of the best...

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. The location couldn't be better and I liked the pool area a lot. The breakfast buffet was also quite good although service was slow and there were some dirty glasses. It's nice that the hotel has several restaurants but the food isn't very good. We had a nice view from our balcony...

I have been an Accor club member before and found in the Mercure chaine to be passable but sadly the Luxor hotel lets the group down. In a country where I was not comfortable eating off the street the hotel food becomes quite significant. Breakfast there could have been done by a one-handed first-year apprentice with his eyes closed. it...

If you are simply looking for a secure central base to discover Luxor then you could do little better than to chose the Mecure Luxor. It truely has a fantastic location in the heart of an amazing corner of the world. They've made an effort in the pool/garden area but the rest of the Hotel is in serious need of...

We stayed in this hotel because it is where our travel agent booked us when the Nile Palace (Steinberger) was not available. We stayed in a suite. The hotel is fairly outdated and very dirty. All of the tableclothes and some of the napkins in the restaurant were stained and the sheets on our bed were not clean. The room...

We arrived at the hotel at 2:30pm and tried to check in. We were given a form and then asked to wait in the reception. After 10 minutes she called me over (without leaving the desk). She wanted me to pay for the room before even staying in it. I tried to ask if I could pay on departure but...
