Father Ahmed, son Mohammed and their wonderful staff gave us a warmhearted welcome in their hotel. We had talks in the beautiful garden, we had laughs cycling to the Hatshepsut-site not far from the hotel, we had boat trips to the other bank to visit the temples of Karnak and Luxor. And boy oh boy, they absolutely served the best... More

Tucked in the West Bank village near the Nile ferries, this family-run hotel is a real gem. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the facilities are all clean and well cared-for. The food was delicious, and the garden environment with lots of comfy seating is relaxing and beautiful. Highly recommended!

I've stayed here several times in the past while I've been working in Luxor - here again with a group this time, and it's lovely as always. The rooms are clean and well-appointed (although be warned that the bathrooms are Egyptian-style, with only a shower!), and the garden is really pretty. The staff are attentive, and most importantly, honest. I've... More

I strongly recommend this restaurant! It's a rare gem of peace and beauty in Luxor even if it doesn't seem so from the street outside! Very quite, harmonious, full of beautiful plants and the toilets were clean. I've been there with a group of friends and we had an agreed price for our lunch (drinks excluded) so I'm not able... What a special evening! A group of us had Christmas Dinner at the Amon Hotel in Gezira Al Bairat on the West Bank of Luxor. We had dinner in their small private dining room after walking through the pretty courtyard where colourful lights festooned the trees. The food was delicious - tomato soup followed by a wonderful salad with beetroot;... More

I am visiting here with two friends and am blown away at the hospitality, the food and the great prices. It's location on the West Bank is perfect for me, as I don't like the hustle and bustle of the East Bank. Ahmed, the owner, and his son, Mohammed, are incredibly gracious and have seen to our every need. The... More

I will answer each of the points raised in turn. 1. Amon Hotel is a small family run hotel set in a small Egyptian village on the West Bank of Luxor. Why are you surprised that they only serve Egyptian food? This is precisely why lots of other people choose to come to this side of Luxor, to sample the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel with the informal atmosphere, where international guests will feel comfortable for weeks! The hotel is on the West Bank of Luxor, overlooking the mountains of the desert to one side and the East Bank of the Nile on the other. It is a five minute walk to the ferry and the smaller taxi boats for a five minute crossing of the Nile River. The hotel sits quietly in the middle of the village of Al Bairat with its small shops, stables, rural village life and nearby fields; near the tombs and the temples of the West Bank. Almost all of the 17 rooms are equipped with bathroom, shower and air-conditioning and have large balconies with furniture that are ideal for a relaxing time overlooking the garden or street. On the roof terraces you can enjoy the sunset and sunrise, relax or sunbathe on the deck chairs. The beautiful garden of wonder. The marvelous lotus pond, the twin fountains and rich variety of tropical plants are an invitation for enjoying breakfast or to relax after a day of sightseeing. ... more   less
