This was the less bang for my buck ever in Nairobi. Room cost USD 180/night, looked like a student dorm room although it had all conveniences and usually hot water with descent water pressure. There was only one tiny bottle of water/day in the room. Breakfast is very good, with a buffet with a wide variety of food that runs...

Our stay at the Fairview was in 2 stages. 3 nights after we arrived in Nairobi, a break of 4 days, followed by a 5 night stay. We received a very warm welcome and a recommendation to go straight to breakfast while our bags were taken to our rooms. This concern for our comfort and convenience was a Hal mark...

The room was very spacious, there was lovely food in the hotel, the gardens were wonderful with a great pool, if you sit outside to eat in the evening there is a fire that they light for you. Shop on site and brilliant security.

A nice hotel in a good location. But it is spoiled by the rooms / beds which are tiny. There is nowhere to hang clothes and the lighting outside is very bright, all night. It may deter burglars but it also prevents sleep! Restaurants are good; service is patchy. Swimming pool, in September, is bracing!

We had one night at the Fairview, travelling from Amsterdam on a late flight into Nairobi. The hotel is really well located between Kenyatta and Wilson airports and therefore makes a great starting point for a safari trip. The hotel itself oozes atmosphere, with a real colonial feel in the architecture and decor but with all modern amenities. The garden...

Great place for a business breakfast, lunch or dinner. The "fine dining" the Pango Gourmet Brasserie on the first floor was exceptional dinner. There are many places to choose from for coffee, a bite, lunch , supper or a formal meeting - very relaxed garden setting.

A brief two night trip to Nairobi so stopped at the Fairview. Having stayed there many times previously I was disappointed to discover when booking that the hotel was no longer family owned and had been bought by the City Lodge Group from South Africa. The family owned element and character I really liked, the odd different sized rooms, the...

I should start by indicating that I was booked into a standard single room by my business host. This room was fairly basic but had all expected inclusions. The hotel complex is close to a few embassies and thus is subject to solid security - a good thing. The reception staff were always extremely helpful as were the house staff....

My second visit and I was impressed again. Did not stay in the hotel but had drinks and dinner. Great Japanese food and service. Beautiful cycad and palm tree garden but also an excellent shop with high quality interesting merchandise. I was surprised when a staff member told me it was only a 4 star hotel.

My husband and I stayed here one night on the way to Tanzania and one night on the way back. This was 6 years ago. Rooms are basic but clean and cozy. Property is lush and very cute. Location is not too far from the airport and the location is safe. The staff was very friendly and the bar and...
