Wow what a find ! This little gem was recommended to me by a friend as a perfect place for 2 ladies travelling without their menfolk. So welcoming, with wonderful staff, rooms and food. Nothing was too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. Away from the centre of Nairobi, it is a peaceful oasis within easy reach of either...

Nairobi can be an intimidating place. Arriving late at night after a sleepless, 'round-the-clock series of international flights only intensifies one's disorientation. Finally reaching Macushla House, the people you have come to know by name as you've made arrangements for your stay here personally welcoming you with enthusiastic hugs and handshakes, instantly dispatches all anxiety. It truly is a feeling...

We had the best time here with great service and food. The staff and owner are so warm, friendly and just lovely folks to be around. The food is amazingly gourmet with lots of great presentation and fresh local produce. Being vegetarian this was not a problem for their creative cook who knew how to cook for Gluten Free diet...

This is my fifth visit to this special place - a place lacking entirely of any pretension or ostentation. Macushla is a guest house that feeds the soul. Wonderfully peaceful, the silence is broken by birdsong and chattering monkeys. Dinner outside amongst the trees is one of the highlights. Book a massage in your room and then go for an...

My partner and I stayed at Macushla House for just a night before a transfer to the Masai Mara for our safari. We were given a great, comfortable room by the excellent staff, who couldn't have been more helpful towards us. After venturing out to a nearby giraffe sanctuary and elephant orphanage, we returned and had a top quality meal...

We stayed at the Macushla House for two nights on our way back from the Safari. It is located in Karen, a really nice suburb of Nairobi. The place is so full of character, lush greenery, monkeys, the works. They made a really nice dinner for us the evening we arrived.

My husband and I stayed here with my parents in law overnight before transferring to the Masai Mara. It was such a lovely place to stay, very comfortable, lovely and welcoming staff. The breakfast was delicious and the setting was a lovely relaxing start to our time in Nairobi and the Mara. It's in the exclusive Karen area of the...

We stayed here one night after arriving late in Nairobi from US and were warmly welcomed with drinks and hot food made to order. Our room was spacious, well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. The house is so comfortable we would have loved to have had a reason to stay longer. The wifi was strong, the water hot, the tea...
