a small quaint place. the owner is a powerful interesting woman that worth a chat. Also she is helpful and can suggest activities that you can do on your own, and don't necessarily require a guided tour. It is in a good central location there is a nice rooftop

Wonderful host! authentic experience, she is caring, welcoming.. it's in the old town.. place clean, safe and interesting, historical with old furniture. such a bargain price! You are really at town center when you stay here.

Baitur noor is in the middle of old town.The house of course like all other houses there is Swahili design. I stayed there for six nights.The housekeeper Aliyah was so amazing.The room was spacious and well organized,however it was a bit dusty and the closet had some cobwebs. It's a beautiful old swahili house, with distinct architecture and decoration. Serene. The double room on the terrace was amazing, a true home away from home. We had such a great time..I didn't want to leave. The house is lovely and Aliya is such an amazing person. We had a great time in Lamu as we had proper guidance. I would recommend anyone going to Lamu to stay there. When you get in the house you realise you are home.Asante guys!

The house if beautiful, the location is great and Aliya is just an amazing host who looks after you so well. They'll arrange boat rides, meals, etc for you. Highly recommend a vacation here. The room on the roof is gorgeous.

We stayed here over Christmas this year and had an incredible time!! Mama Aliya and Babu were genuine and made sure everything was perfect for our stay! The food was great, the rooms were clean and the showers worked really well. The house is in a great location - right next to the Old Fort, and just a few steps...
