I Stayed in this hotel for 4 days. The breakfast was ok and good customer service overall. The view is excellent and if lucky you will capture the sunrise when the skies are clear. A small room with a 6x6 ft bed doesn't give you enough room to pass around. The beds should be a bit smaller for the kind of room. The internet is a big let down as it only worked for the first day and only in selected areas. There is now warm/hot shower available from the taps

There doesn't seem to be a separate page for the restaurant here. Known for it's pizza, Lamu Palace was a good place for dinner during our time in Lamu Town. There aren't too many mid-range restaurants in Lamu Town, so this was a great change from Lamu House. Pizza is made in a woodfire oven. Service is good. You can sit outside and watch the world go by on the waterfront.

We had breakfast at Lamu Palace Hotel. We ordered a half breakfast and the food was great. Price was fair and, above all, the restaurant is a very beautiful place, right at the waterfront. Staff was also nice.

We had several dinners here. The food was always tasty. The service generally attentive. The pricing is slightly higher than other restaurants, but the offer of alcohol makes it worthwhile. The decor includes some amazing artefacts, so worth dropping in for a drink or a meal just to look at these. The staff are friendly. They even have a cat chaser on the staff, albeit he sleeps more than the cats, perhaps!

This is with out overreacting the worst Resturrant I have even been eating at!! We ordered Calamari for starter which we waited for one hour and a Half. When it finally came it was not eatable! I have never written anything on tripadviser Before, because I have always just accepted that some resturant Experiences are worse than others. But This was just terrible! The Calimari was like rubber and non of us could eat it. We hat to spit it out. We couldn't even cut it with our knifes.. we called the waiter to tell him and he couldn't Care less. After disgussing with him for 15 minutes he finally got the chef to come. He just Said that we had to pay for it. And we asked him to taste it and see if he could eat it. He refused and the whole situation became so uncomfortable!! We had to pay 2300 shillings for food that could not be eaten. Both the service and the food was without a doubt the worse ever and I Would never recomend this place to anyone!!!!!

I came here on two occasions for a bite with my dad, and each time walked away feeling a little disappointed. Granted, Eid had ended recently and the town seemed to still be in the process of gearing up. Service was about as slow as you'd expect, but that's not why it was bad. It was bad because the waitress didn't seem to know the menu, nor what the fish of the day was, and a few times asserted that things on the menu shouldn't be there at all (e.g. wine by the glass, she insisted you could only buy it by the bottle). The prices were insane. Like, really insane. I honestly think that for the price of some of their main dishes I could instead eat the entire weekend at the neighbouring local bar. Disproportionate to all other restaurants I was at. The food was quite good, though not nearly enough to justify the cost. As for selection, it was embarrassing. I understand that, as a fresh seafood oriented restaurant, you don't have control over what comes in, so I won't judge them for that. Kudos to them for sticking to their guns and not bringing in frozen fish. Where they fell short, was in literally everything else. They had no juice, no wine by the glass, no large bottled water, and a whole assortment of other basic menu items. Overall, wouldn't go back. There are cheaper, friendlier, better restaurants all along the sea front, and unless you're on the market for really good wine (I assume from the price) there's nothing I saw here I didn't see elsewhere.

This is a great, old style hotel rather than a resort style place. Quick facts: rooms are not huge, large netted beds take up all the space. Room aircon. In wet season the hot water disappears as it's solar heated. Restaurant is good but very expensive compared to others nearby. No teppenyaki as advertised on front. As with every place here, houseflies a problem. Don't know how they could reduce this though. Maybe electric killers could be placed out of view. Staff are all helpful and friendly. Rooms kept clean and also sprayed each evening. No mosquito bites in 10 days. All in all a good choice but would have liked a hot shower. Would recommend.

This review only concerns the restaurant... (Look for the blue trimmed building..)... A great place to stop for lunch.. Food is good.. (Gluten Free and Vegetarian options).... Quiet and casual... Most importantly, the place provides free wi-fi, almost impossible to find anywhere else.... So, the 90 minute lunch was an enjoyable meal, a nice break, and a place to check email!

As a frequent visitor to Lamu, Lamu palace Hotel has become a must go to! Their sea front restaurant has some of the best meals in Lamu! The staff are friendly and service great, and the ambience very relaxing. Their grilled prawns and Parsley potatoes are to die for! The portions are also quite fair! Make sure to stop for a meal at Lamu palace sea front restaurant when in Lamu.
