The facilities here may not be 5 Star but the location, and the Massai who own and run this camp certainly are. The waters hot, the beds are clean and comfortable, the food nutritious and plentiful – after all there’s not much more you need. When you combine that with the Massai that run the camp for the local community...

Both the Safari Camp and the Village homestay are unique experiences. The facilities are not brand new, but as a rural experience is one of the best we've had so far travelling the world. Maasais took care of us and shared everything with us in a way that we learnt and shared their way of life and became friends. 100%...

My friend and I work currently as volunteers in Kenya. When we visited spontaneously Masai Mara we decided to stay with the real Masai. Best decision we could make, we had such an amazing time! Thanks to Jackson and his experienced eyes we saw the big five and basically everything else what is to be found in the park. The...

What an amazing place. It is the real deal! At Semadep you get to experience what it is to be with the Maasai. Rustic but comfortable. Our hosts were fantastic, we were made to feel like part of the family from the moment we got there. The first thing we were told was this is your home while you are...

This place is so great. One of my best travel experiences.. (Okay, that is partly because I saw baby cheetahs, but also because this group is so incredibly genuine and hospitable that after one weekend in the Mara I felt like I had been there forever). I found Semadep on a last minute internet search and I liked that they...

Wow! Incredible journey into the Mara and what a fantastic place to stay. Loved being in a safari tent under the stars. I felt transported back in time minus the safari suits. The camp is run by the local Maasai who have done a lot of amazing work in their community. I was very well looked after and lucky enough...

We drove from Nairobi to Narok and Jackson and Geoffrey waited for us there and brought us to the best Coffee Place in Narok. After...

Myself and a friend were looking for a place in Kenya where we could enjoy the country's natural beauty, see some wildlife, experience the local culture and also give something back to the community. Semadep camp ticketed all the boxes. The camp is run by a group of Maasai, led by the very charming and hard working James. The funds...

We have just finished a round the world trip and our last stop was in Kenya to see the Masai Mara. We had heard about Semadep Camp from a friend and decided to book our trip with them and we weren't disappointed. If you want a real Africa experience, that gives you a glimpse of how local tribes live and...

“I'd recommend a couple of nights in the camp - comfy beds, fairly decent showers and paraffin lamps - and then a couple in the village. There is a long drop loo for visitors and you wash in a bucket. I put 5 stars for Cleanliness because I don't want to express any negative about this great experience. But a Maasai village just isn't clean - there is cow poo, flies etc. The camp is well maintained tho.”
