Beautiful lodge right at the Mara river, wonderful staff, and most important: the best game drives with SIMON, who showed us not only the Big Five, but a lot more!!! Unforgettable!

I recently visited Kenya in Feb 2011 with my extended family, for the holiday of a life time as we celebrated a family wedding. A few days after the wedding we flew from our Mombasa hotel to the Royal Mara Safari Lodge, and from the moment we stepped on the plane, till we landed back in Mombasa 4 days later...

My husband and I have just come back from Kenya we booked the trip and could not imagine what to expect we did the 3 day 2 night, stay the lodge the staff the food especially the guide whose name was Wilson made a dream come true. We will be going again next year as we enjoyed it so much...

We stayed at the Royal Mara for 3 nights in Feb 2011. There were 7 of us staying in 2 double lodges and one triple. Royal Mara Safari Hotel. http://www.royalmara.com/ Hotel. On arrival we were greeted with some orange juice and told the rules of the hotel, basically not to go off wondering as it isn't enclosed. WE chose this lodge before leaving the UK. IT is brethtakingly wonderful. Located on the Mara river adjacent to 'Hippopotamus Lagoon' and several of the Wildebeest migration crossing points; there are only eight lodges in the camp; all on the rivers edge. Royal mara was spectacular. The level of service almost made me feel uncomfortable. The setting was amazing. Everything was just so good. We did 2 nighst 3 days safari booked through JT Safaris, whilst we were on a 2 week holiday at Baobab Beach. The safari booked by JT was brilliant everything went smoothly so I recommend booking with JT Safaris. The Royal Mara was excellent the place is amazing!
