My bed was infested with bedbugs, and without knowing, I suffered a whole body of bites and itch. There were worms in the en-suite toilet. Light in the room was almost useless in the night, as it was very dim. Location was not near to...More
Actually it is a nice hostel, we had a room at the fourth floor, but they hadn't an elevator. The common room is nice, drinks and food are good and the price is good. The employee didn't speak English very well, but it was ok....More
We walked in (July 2017) and booked a room for one night. We wanted to see the room before booking and they did allow us to see it. The room was okay so we proceeded to book it. It cost us 400RMB for one night...More
This hostel is at best halfway decent for someone who is very lucky and willing to take risks and doesn't mind dirt, but odds are something goes wrong. "Luggage storage" room #2 is an open closet--anyone can walk in and steal anything any time, nobody...More

I went on the day-trip to the Mutianyu part of the Great Wall when I stayed at Sanlitun in January 2016. It was a nice day. You get breakfast in the hostel in the morning, and then you board a tour bus with participants from other hostels as well. It takes you straight to the Wall, and has an English speaking guide who explains the day schedule and knows a lot about the Great Wall. You are free to spend your time at Mutianyu as you wish, as long as you get back to the bus in time. Before leaving, a lunch is served in a restaurant near the bus stop.
I recommend going, it's a convenient way to go see the Great Wall.
