There was zero communication to us from this hostel even though there had been major road work on nanluoguxiang (the main street to get to the hostel). 95% of shops, bars and restaurants were closed due to the roadwork. The peking international youth hostel is pricier than all surrounding hostels and is certainly not worth staying at under these conditions.... More

This place is resting on ALOT of old positive reviews for the private rooms - NOT the dorm rooms: 1) For dorm stayers, there is ONLY 1 sink, 2 shower stalls and 2 toilets for EVERYONE (men AND women + staff) + 1 toilet downstairs for the restaurant patrons. Luckily as the temperature drops in Beijing, so do the #s... More

Stayed here twice now....and wouldn't think about staying anywhere else whilst in Beijing. Ideally situated in a bustling hutong, with good Metro connections. Staff are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. I had train tickets and permits delivered here ready for my arrival and the staff, who checked us in, were keen to give us a helping hand making sure all documents... More

It is a nice atypical place in the Hutong. Restaurant is air conditionned and a roof top ( to warm in August). Food is more occidental than Chinese but after some days with Chinese food, you can find here some good European beer and salads. Music is nice and cool. Only thing to be improved is the noise of the... More

The hostel is easy to locate and situated in a safe location. Direction was very clearly written on their website, just remember to take the correct exit from the train station and the hostel is just another 5 mins walk from the train station. One of the best thing about the hostel is the location where it was situation along... More

Me and my parents chose this Spot by chance for lunch in the middle of the hutong hectic street. The choice couldn't have been better. Perfect atmosphere in the rooftop. Had fresh fruit juices, delicious salads and mains and coffee with dessert. The atmosphere, music, flowers, people around and good service left us so satisfied that we came back the... More

Stayed here for 4 days and had zero complaints, in fact it was great! To begin with the staff were friendly, helpful and many spoke English. The restaurant had a very European offer, which doesn't mean it was great. The breakfast for example had room for improvement. The rooms are clean and not too old. The overall atmosphere is great.... I'm really glad I chose the Peking International Youth Hostel. It's a great location on a happening hutong, 150 metres from the subway (which the staff helped me to use and was an excellent and easy way to get to key attractions and the airport), breakfast- yoghurt, fruit and muesli was a good way to start the day. Nico and... More
