A friend and I stayed at the Beijing 161 Beihai Courtyard Hotel, and we were happy with our stay. I didn't arrive until 3:00 in the morning, but the receptionists were happy to help me get to my room and meet up with my friend, who had arrived earlier. They didn't speak much English, but they used an app to...

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel is for budget minded travelers, and has a feeling of authentic old China about it with the courtyard and appointments. Internet in y room was lacking, but was fine inside the lobby. Nice location near subway.

Good things: This is a great place in central part of Beijing. Very close to subway line and Tiananmen (3 stops + 1 transfer). Character building located in one of hutong. Good value for money. Friendly and respectable staff. Negative: No restaurant and airport transfers. No lift. Ask for a ground floor room if you have accessiblity requirement or carrying...

The locations is fine, however there are some serious shortcomings. It is expensive for what it is, staff hardly has a clue about customer service, no English spoken, rainwater leaks in the damp room, lousy internet policy (max. one device per room). There are far better places in central Beijing than this courtyard hotel. I wouldn't recommend it.

I got room 8101...no window, seemed okay but was smelly, in the night a few flys where buzzing around my ears, when I opened the bathroom door there where heaps of flys! I was bitten also! I complained and eventually they changed...

I've been traveling with my girlfriend around the world for four months and we've stayed in some questionable hostels/hotels/air bnb rooms/couchsurfing couches on our journey. We just got off the trans-siberian rail after six full days in a train compartment with two other people without shower facilities so we're accustomed tight spaces, odd smells, and lack of privacy. With that...

We only spent one night in this hotel and picked it so we could stay in a hutong hotel at an affordable price (about $30 a night). The hotel had a fun layout, centered around a nice courtyard (too cold to use in March). The rooms all open an semi-enclosed hallway but the room was warm. The room was very...

We stayed here for 2 nights. Friendly staff and clean place, although the hotel can improve a bit on their housekeeping effort - beds were not made by the hotel during our entire stay there. Toilet paper was only replenished on day 1 and we had to ask for those from the front desk on the other day. The in...

Excellent hostel, very very friendly and knowledgeable staff, good location close to subway. Good atmosphere and very spacious courtyard, I would go back if travelling to Beijing again. Good restaurant, very convenient. Stayed in a double-bed room, and it was just fine. Good for people looking to have a good stay and meet people in a relax set up. Organized...
