The Hotel is laying in Beijings "grey town", you really do get an autentic feeling and is close to many of Beijings main attractions. The hotel can be a little hard to find, and there is not many to ask for the location, but I...More
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and we had an amazing time!
The staff was extremely nice and helpful.
The hotel is so authentic, calm, romantic and beautiful, close to subway stations.
And not taken for granted - they know English!
This boutique hotel will not be for everyone, and I would wager it is probably not the most suitable hotel for families since the rooms were slightly smaller. However, what you get in exchange is wonderful service and a very unique hutong stay in central...More
My mom and I stayed in a double room for 2 nights. The staff are really accommodating. I was rearranging our itinerary for our Great Wall tour and they were kind enough of giving me options if I take Huanghuacheng, Mutianyu or Badaling route. I...More

you could book a superior family room which has one double bed and one extra single bed. if the second kid doesn't want to share the double bed with the parents,, then another extra single bed could be added in the room.

Come out of Beihai Nth station onto the north side of the big main road (Di'an Men Xi Dajie) - turn right (ie walking west towards Pinganli station); carry on to the next main crossroad and turn right onto Desheng Men Nei Dajie; a short way up (70m?) on your right you will see a sign for Xinghua Hutong; it is a dark looking alleyway, like most of the hutongs but you will see ahead about 50m on the right are two red lanterns hanging outside - these mark the hotel entrance. When you get there, there are two big red doors and the hotel name is signed. Ring the bell and they come to open up. Once inside you will feel much relieved and find a little haven with pretty courtyard interior!
The first time I went it was ten at night and I was nervous walking there - I was glad I had my son with me. But once found and being more familiar with the way and surroundings I was quite happy going back late on my own. I never felt unsafe at all. So I expect you will also be the same on going there for the first time. Be assured you will be fine! If you were at all unsure I think someone would come out of the hotel entrance to greet you if you called - they were very nice though not great English .
