Common areas of hotel very cold - keep your coat on (as all the reception staff do) Rooms decent size and have safe but not particularly clean and are very hot - there are temperature controls in the room but not really good. Ineffective wifi. About 15 minutes easy walk to The Temple of Heaven park where entrance is 10...

This place has to be the worst place I have ever stayed. It's extremely dirty, in need of a major overhaul and better management. The list of things that is bad is almost endless, from a filthy stained and dirty carpet to a bathroom which is also dirty and leaks everywhere. There is also a pipe in the bathroom that...

Stayed there 9 Oct and was expecting something awful having looked at the reviews. Was with an Explore group and one or 2 of the group said their rooms were rather dirty but my room was fine - OK the carpet had some cigarette burns but that was to be expected in China. Area is quite interesting as you walk...

Pretty grim really. In rather downbeat area of Beijing ( but within walking distance of Tiantan), although has supermarkets and ATM very close by. The hotel itself I doubt has had any maintenance since around 1990. It is dirty, smelly and the carpets don't bear thinking about. Beds are of Chinese super hardness and the breakfasts as expected for China....

Hotel is a standard hotel, and seems to be the norm with Chinese hotels in this bracket whereby it was probably a great hotel when new, but ongoing maintenance lacking. However, it did the job, rooms were comfortable, bathrooms were ok and this is where the lack of maintenance was noticed mosts. However, showers good and plenty of hot water....

We were booked into this hotel through Explore as part of our Beijing to Honk Kong tour. The hotel was based within a local area with a couple of God restaurants within 5 mins walking distance, there were some local shops across the road and a Bank of China next door - really handy if you want to change money....

We stayed in Beijing for two days recently at the Xiao Xiang hotel. The check in was ok although the front lobby staff have minimal English. The hotel is in an safe area with same decent restaurant across the road. The lobby was clean however once you got out of the elevator on your floor the small was overwhelming in...

I was travelling with Explore and they booked this hotel. I wasn't expecting much and I wasn't surprised when I arrived at the hotel. It started with the staff. I don't think they knew more than three or four words of English. The back wall of the lobby is painted black and it looks like the paint ran. The lobby...

This hotel is not far from the Temple of Heaven, you can walk there, you are also near to the Opera and the Acrobat show, there are lots of places to eat as well. The hotel has a good breakfast with some western things, the staff are helpful, the hotel is very busy with business people, but it is quiet....

Stayed here when doing Explore's "Walk The Wall" tour, but they use it for all the Beijing tours. Expectations were low, based on some of the reviews. However, it wasn't as bad as expected. The public areas of the hotel did stink of smoke, which was off-putting. Fortunately, our room didn't. We had brought a neutradol pot with us (from...
