The hotel is absolutely magnificent, with an imposing lobby and very spacious rooms. My room (7412) had both a bedroom and a living room, as well as a large wash/shower room with separate toilet and bathroom (in the UK language sense in which bathroom means a room with an actual bath!). The room is cables for internet, and there's an...

Fabulous historic hotel with bar that has all The photos of the famous heads of government that dined there with Mao Zedong Best margueritas by Albert ! Close to the forbidden city and shopping. The best thing was the staff in the lobby We bought pottery at the puanpyiang markets and the staff, Luke wang, peter and hank could not...

We chose this hotel because we saw that until recently it was a Raffles hotel and we assumed it still provided 5 star comfort and service under a different name. It's true that this is an historic hotel, with grand public spaces and large rooms but that's really where the 5-star hotel feel ends. The hotel is extremely quiet, service...

As others have mentioned the location is superb, walkable to the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square and with a metro stop at the door. The local buses are brilliant too, just use Google maps to plot your trip then press the bus icon. The hotel, overall is pretty good, breakfast was excellent and the room spacious and comfortable.. there are...

This is a beautiful traditional hotel with some enormous rooms. I had a studio suite I think, Room 6421 and it was absolutely lovely. For our party of five women though, the concierge service stood out as being extra special. Nothing was too much trouble for Hank, Coolio and Randy and the help they gave us in organising trips, recommending...

The former Raffles Hotel has been purchased by Nuo Hotel chain. We were somewhat disappointed with the club room as it no longer serves liquor, just beer, wine, and soft drinks. The type and amount of the food also has diminished. We thought this was strange given the new Nuo Hotel had a magnificent club room. The staff varied with...

Stayed only one night at the hotel before continuing our trip to the Wall. We liked the location because of its proximity to the various spots such as the Forbidden City / Tiananmen Place. We really liked the hotel with its atmosphere and old colonial (British) style.

This is a gorgeous old hotel built in early 1900's with loads of history and charm. As others have stated, there is some room for updates and renovations but our stay was wonderful. The staff goes above and beyond. The rooms are very big and our family of four fit comfortably. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I...
