My sister and I stayed in this place for two nights. We arrived around 2 am and the taxi dropped us off in the Main Street pointing direction in the alley, they called it "hutong." I signaled the taxi to show us the hotel since we didn't speak Chinese. Although he was in a hurry and didn't want to leave...

A lovely oasis in a modern city. Peaceful Hu tong ambience. Cozy and clean room. Helpful staff. Authentic local dishes at breakfast. Things we could do from this hotel: (1) walked to the Forbidden City (2) took a bus to Sanlitun (modern shopping area) (3) subway to Houhai (pubs and restaurants which are somewhat more uniquely local).

On our first sight we were horrified at the location and seeming down run appearance of the hotel. We had been promised an authentic Chinese experience. It certainly was. However our room was modern with flatscreen tv and clean modern appliances. The courtyards were a little run down but otherwise quite tidy. The breakfast was more than adequate with a...

We recently spent four nights in this small and traditional hotel in a Beijing Hutong. Our room was compact but comfortable with traditional furnishings. Breakfast was served in a common area every morning...both Chinese and western offerings....vegetables, bread, cereal, etc. and good coffee. The staff was friendly and accommodating. I would happily stay here again.

Sihe Courtyard is located in the middle of a vast network of hutongs, and my daughter and I enjoyed wandering through them and watching the bustle of family life that occurs in them, and the vistas of hidden gardens in even the poorest doorways. The location is great, not too far from the Forbidden City and other attractions. I liked...

We visited Beijing with friends and stayed three nights at the Beijing Sihe Courtyard Hotel. It is a tranquil, intimate oasis in old Beijing featuring cozy, clean, well-appointed rooms, clustered around several beautiful courtyards. Breakfast featured a variety of hot and cold Chinese and Western food options. The hotel is very quiet due to its secluded location. The hotel is...

We stayed at the Beijing Sihe Courtyard Hotel for 4 days in September 2016. After arriving from the USA on our long flight, we were delighted to get to the hotel and relax. What a cool place. Located in a traditional hutong, it was nicely furnished and a peaceful atmosphere in a hectic city. We were a group of 8...

The hotel is everything it is advertised to be, hutong location, free bicycles (although we didnt avail), clean, hard but comfortable beds. Rooms are a bit small, but hot water ( was spring when we were there), safe and fridge as well as tea all provided. There are plenty of great little local restaurants a 5-10 minute walk away, the...

If you are looking for a big international hotel with a lot of non-Chinese citizens, then this hotel is not for you. If you are looking for a small quaint hotel frequented by Chinese and knowledgeable tourists, than this could be your hotel. It's located down a narrow street off the main drag. But it is quite comfortable and a...
