We love to stay here. The family who owned this farm house is so friendly and helpful. Our kids love the food provided here. The room we stay also nice and warm. It is one of our best family holiday trips.

A Good place to stay for a trip to the great wall. Very close to the wall and the host will help with tickets and transfers. It's worth going west along the wall right up to where it looks like it stops at a bricked up section, then climb over a small wall and proceed up the

I stayed four nights at this wonderful Homestay. This is a family-run business. I particularly enjoyed the home-style cooked food, and personal attention of the owners. Additionally, my experience here include interaction with other guests, local and from abroad. The

The Beijing Yitong card costs 20RMB, and if you purchase it from the Airport [there is a sales counter next to the subway entrance (to Dongzhimen)], you would need to add more money to purchase the rides. I paid 100RMB (20RMB for the card, and 80RMB for the rides - I stayed in Beijing for a week, so 80RMB is just right).

I took a bus from Dongzhimen Station (part of Beijing subway network) to Hairou, and then take a taxi to Mutianyu's front entrance (there is a gate-barrier, which I assume to drive further in, requires a fee or permit). The Homestay's owner son and his mother was waiting for me at the gate-barrier. They then drove me to their lodge. Have the taxi call the Homestay to be sure they meet you at the gate-barrier. If you have the Beijing Yitong card, it costs 6RMB on the bus. Remember to take the Bus No. 916X (X for Express). The taxi from the bus-stop drop off to the gate-barrier costs 37RMB. Note, the bus-stop drop off is at Bei Da Jie (translated to North Main Street) in Hairou. Upon alighting, there is the usual hassle with black-market taxi operators, ignore them, but, take only the licensed ones which are parked on the side of the street about 30m away to the right upon stepping out of the bus. The licensed taxis are colored blue, and display the "taxi" sign on their roof. If you take a bullet train to Beijing, you would need to transfer to the Beijing subway system and take the appropriate line (Line 2 is one) to Dongzhimen Station. You have to leave that Station, walk about 100m-150m to the bus-station (inside a building with fast food stalls) to take Service No. 916X. If you do not have Beijing Yitong card, the bus ride would cost you a little more, I believe it is 12RMB. Have fun! I did!

Of course you can arrange a taxi to pick you up, but I need to know your specific time and date, as well as your hotel address
