Convenient to almost everything. 2 min to MTR station, buses and trams are all very close. Plenty of eateries. Shops are everywhere. Buffet breakfast was good quality and plenty of varieties. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Highly recommend this place. We really enjoyed, everything there : staff, room , location. Only the breakfast quality was average. The cell phone provided was also a very nice add, very helpful to discover HK !

Solid business hotel. Easy walk from Hong Kong station airport train. Several organic shops and organic restaurant one block away - delicious food. Metro one block and good grocery store and several good premium coffee shops.

What a nice hotel inmidst one of the "nicest" areas in Hong Kong! We just loved our short stay at the Mercer. We got upgraded, hat a wonderful, smart and relatively spacious apartment with goodies like free mini bar, a mobile phone at your disposal (!!), very good breakfast, a phantastic view and really nice stuff. Recommended!!

We came here for a few days for a birthday trip. The trip itself started a little stressful, with the loss of one of our passports. The front staff was so kind and understanding and really helped us trouble shoot. Luckily, it was found at the airport within 24 hours of landing. After a hike with a friend that lives... More

Hong Kong is not the cheapest of places and this hotel in Sheung Wan is just a walk from Central and much more reasonable than many of the bigger hotels. Located amongst local shops and businesses, you do feel you're experiencing the local culture. The main pluses are: lovely and helpful staff, free mini bar stocked with soft drinks and... More

Free mini bar is good but what is better is the handy phone with free Wi-Fi that you can take out with you and also free phone calls, amazing! Room was nice, breakfast good. Hotel is in a good location, near to Soho and the trains and the ferry port.

The hotel is amazing value for money, each room is a suite. You get a free mini bar and breakfast. The breakfast in different today we had bacon sweet corn and chicken. They also do boiled eggs and cereal. The staff are really helpful, nothing is to much trouble. The Mtr is at the end of the street and its... More

We stayed for 9 nights in a 1-bedroom apartment and this was a great location to base ourselves from for our trip to Hong Kong. The closest MRT is only a couple of minutes walk away and there is a great range of eateries around the hotel as well as a supermarket a couple of streets away. We liked the... More

This is a great hotel for the price. The staff was exceptional and could not have been more helpful. The room was very comfortable although the decor was a bit quirky. The neighborhood is seedy but safe and close to the metro so very east to get to where you need to go. The breakfast was also excellent.

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighbourhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.

“Kitchenette was not fully equipped. There was a microwave oven and some crockery and cutlery but not enough for 2 settings. A big doona was a bit too much for the weather. Air conditioner had to be turned on all the time and it's too noisy.”
