In Tai O, you can see old fashion stilt houses on a boat ride and visit the Heritage boutique hotel that is renovated from an old police stations. The restaurant in the hotel called the Lookout offers a decent set lunch or dinner for visitors

Location: about as far away as you can get from the downtown high rises and still be in Hong Kong. It is a trek just to get to Tai O, and another twenty minutes by foot from the village to the hotel. Very peaceful at night, but not so fun getting there if it's raining. Rooms: I had the suite... More

We lived in Hong Kong Island and decided to take a short break to stay at this nicely restored hotel. The room is clean, comfortable with adequate supply of coffee and basic amenities. But the bed is a bit soft. Dinner is good and the breakfast caught us in surprised with good varieties of eggs, fruits and pastry. The only... More

This is a small boutique hotel that has been restored from an old army barracks. There are only about a dozen or so rooms. The rooms are quite small but comfortable. All rooms open onto a covered walkway that overlooks the water. The hotel is on a hillside, and you can walk up to the building or take an elevator.... More

The hotel has been nicely refurbished from an old police station - beautiful and comfortable rooms, great views etc. Breakfast in the dining room was fantastic and the staff all tried very hard to make us feel at home. The only problems were their slightly weird service to guests. The main issue was that no-one in the email confirming booking... More

Lovely spot for lunch at the end of a long walk along the harbour from Tai O village. Service was good and the food tasty. Can't comment about rest of hotel as only stopped for lunch but the surroundings and food here were lovely

During a recent visit to Lantau we decided on this destination for lunch. The rain was heavy but we kept on walking. The signs with arrows pointing toward the hotel were inspirational and helpful. The staff is gracious, their onion soup is off the charts(worth the wait!) and the view was spectacular.

I never write reviews but this hotel is so bad I feel obligated to warn unsuspecting travellers!! There is no easy access to check in. You have to travel 40 minutes by taxi from Lantau airport then you have to arrange a very small boat to take you and your luggage across the bay ( or drag your luggage thru... More

We gravitated towards this hotel after finding the Tai O market a little overwhelming and hot. They mention a tour on the footpath leading up but it's self guided and takes about 5min. The restaurant was good, local seafood and as expected local favourites. Prices were approx 250-300hkd for main from memory, beer 68hkd for pint. Pleasant way to view... More
