The Hotel is smack in the middle of Kimberly Rd. It is very close to dozens of restaurants and is easy to navigate. The night life is good and ample options available nearby for food and drink. Beware of the traffic on Kimberley Rd. It can get a bit packed during peak hours. The hotel offers you a complimentary mobile...

Lighting in the walkway and room isn't good. Way too dark. Room size is small. Decoration is new but not making you feel bright and relax. Kind of depressing. I personally like the room at Cordis much better. Service didn't make us feel welcome enough to come back again. Good thing about this hotel is the location. 2 blocks away...

Pros: - Excellent location. Short walk to the MTR and the bus to Kowloon Station (for the airport express) is 2 streets away. - Our deluxe twin room was a decent size and modern. The bathroom was huge by HK standards. - The breakfast room was very charming and the spread was excellent. In addition to the choice of a...

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Madera during our 4 day trip to Hong Kong. Hotel Madera was a relativeely new, boutique hotel in Yau Ma Tei and we primarily chose the hotel based on its convenient location. The rooms were quite small, but furnished well with a modern twist. Pros + Extremely convenient location, 3 minute walk to...

I am very happy with the fact that this hotel seems very recent and modern. The room is of good size for Hong Kong standards and has a well maintained bathroom. I like the mood lights and the working desk. The only thing about the room is the bad smell from the carpet, I think it should be cleaned more...

Hotel Madera offers very comfortable accommodation, conveniently located on a quiet side street two blocks from Jordan MTR Exit B1. Jordan is an interesting area, less frequented by tourists than Tsim Sha Tsui. It offers innumerable places to eat, outdoor dining at the night market and quick, easy access to the rest of the city. The room must have been...

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.
