During our previous trip to Hong Kong in 2008, we stayed at the YMCA Salisbury and found it to be a great bargain. Needless to say, we decided to stay there again on our most recent trip to Hong Kong in June 2010. Although we could not immediately check in due to our 8 AM arrival from the airport ,...

This is the best value in HKG. It sits right next to the ritzy Peninsula Hotel in Kowloon and yet if you request the harbour view rooms you have the same views at one quarter the cost. The views from such rooms are truly spectacular (although not as good as they were 15 years ago when we were last here...

Clean rooms, good breakfast, and of course the best location in Hong Kong! It is located almost at the ferry station. 100 meters to bay.

We stayed at The Salisbury for two nights, then moved onto Macau for three nights and returned to The Salisbury for a further seven nights. Our last stay in Hong Kong was three years ago and we stayed at the Kowloon Hotel which is diagonally opposite The Salisbury, the Kowloon was good but the rooms are very small and this...

I recently stayed five nights at the Salisbury YMCA which is located literally next door to the affluent Pennisula Hotel. Overall, I was really pleased with the accomondations and the quality of service the hotel provided. I was however taken aback by the front desk staff consistent lack of etiquette-almost bordering rudeness! Nonetheless, looking beyond these frequent occurrences, the hotel...

Why bother agonising over where to stay, if you're headed to Hong Kong and you know you want to stay on Kowloon. It's got the perfect location right beside an exit to the MTR, just across from Star Ferry, at the bottom of the Nathan Road shopping strip, walking distance to H&M, great food. And great value for money! Smallish...

This hotel is great. Do not be put off by the YMCA aspect. It is adjacent to the super-luxurious Peninsula, but at $150 per day for my room, I wonder why I would squander it on the same view next door. Yes, less luxurious than a five star, but comparable to a Holiday or Hampton Inn... with a million dollar...

I have stayed at the YMCA Salisbury twice now once in 2008 and again in April 2010 it is excellent. the location is brilliant and the hotel is great value of money. The staff are all helpful and polite. Lathough I only ate the occaisional breakfast there the cafe was good value. The hotel is located directly above TST subway...

The hotel itself is well located, clean and simple. The rooms are small but it is same everywhere in Hong Kong. The shops, restaurants, the MTR line, and malls of Tsim Sha Tsui is within walking distance, also the pierre which the ferry to Hong Kong Island disembarks, the international ferry terminal(for Macau) are all within the range of walking....
