The place is clean and the front desk can be quite welcoming. However a major negative is the fact that they only have wifi in the common area. Outside of the lounge and in your rooms there is zero wifi. The location is great. The price could be a bit cheaper but the value isn't bad or Hong Kong.

The location is perfect but inside not so much. To start the rooms were ok but the beds were very damp - my pillow was actually wet. The communal area is too small, everyone stands in the hallways to smoke and it absolutely stinks, you have to go through it to get anywhere. The women on the reception were a...

I normal don't write review, but this was needed, if I saved one tenant , then I'll be content. 1st off, this is the 2nd hostel I ever stayed in, so early apologies for my lack of hostel experience and jumping on the complain wagon. I have stayed in an hostel in Shanghai and compared to the Wang Fat hostel,...

Really good location just next to Causeway Bay, but felt quite uncomfortable when I spotted the info in the lobby that this hostel is illegaly run. The common room is hot most of the time and the staff will turn the tiny air con off a couple times during the day. Beside that they are quite helpful. First two nights...

Price and location is good. The staff was quite friendly but room was bit of a let down. Managed to get a room with a bathroom but unfortunately there was no door for the bathroom. Unexpectedly they have a computer room but you do have to wait for your turn.

It was a little difficult to find the hostel at first. The hostel is located at a convenient location, within walking distance to Causeway Bay MTR station and restaurants. The toilets were clean. The staff was helpful and polite. I would come back to stay if I visited Hong Kong again.

Wang fat was a cheap place to crash for a few nights in Hong Kong. Small room but kept clean by staff. Super close to the shopping district and a supermarket over the road. Shower and toilet in the same space- and the toilet would get wet when you shower but this soon evaporated. Air-conditioner worked well ( a little...

I quite enjoyed my stay at Wang Fat. Excellent location, cheap 2 bed room with a bathroom. Wifi and AC. Helpful staff. The rooms are spread out amongst the building and the elevator is a bit small and slow, but despite that it was an excellent hostel. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

    Neighbourhood Profile
    Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centres of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
