Very small room, a little bit bad smelly but clean and safe. Just enough if you only need a bed and a shower close to city center and bery close to the mtr station. Rate is expensive but cheap compared with HK average Wifi works good For one or two nights is a good option

Very nice location. Really very cheap. Clean. Free wifi. The staff (particularly Kumar) is friendly and accommodating. The room we had is exactly what we needed since we just want somewhere to leave our bags and sleep at night. Problems we had our very small bathing room, no cleaning rags upon getting out of the bathroom so water spreads all...

Wanna a simple clean and dead cheap accommodation in Hong Kong then the strawberry guest house can be right up your street. Just a few minutes walk from Tsim Tsa Tsui station, surrounded by some great curry places.. Only stayed for two nights but the place is clean and we got a twin room which was adequate to what we...

I traveled Asia for 4 months going to 11 different countries and by far out of the dozens of guesthouses i stayed at this was the worst. After paying for 2 nights I was woken up early from a knocking on my door after the first night. It was a member of staff telling me I had to get out...

Out of experience we know that budgethotels in HK are small and dont have the best standards, but this one was surprisingly good! Why; - this guesthouse is brandnew! - its toplocation; in the Chung King Mansion building , a building with lots of hotels , along the famous Touristy Nathan Road. Its located at the 12th Floor, which you...

As we needed a place to sleep after being denied boarding we chose the cheap option and took a taxi from the airport to the strawberry guesthouse. Taxi was about 250 HKD. At first glance you can't tell from the face of the building where you need to go, but luckaly there were enough hotel-pushers to "show us the way"....

We checked into this guest house on 2012/12/28 and checked out on 2013/1/1. People at Frontdesk are quite helpful. However, rooms are smaller, Wifi connection is slow. Its difficult to get to the first floor via elevator, as they are always full. Hence we had to take the stairs most of the times!

Staying in Jordan / Yau Ma Tei

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordan / Yau Ma Tei
The Jordan and Yau Ma Tei neighbourhood is where you will find some of the more authentic areas of Hong Kong. Not as glamourous or busy as its neighbours Mong Kok to the north or Tsim Sha Tsui to the south, Yau Ma Tei is often mistakenly overlooked by visitors on their trips to Hong Kong. Exploring parts of this area makes you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. A large part of the neighbourhood draws from the rich history of Temple Street, stretching from Jordan to Yau Ma Tei, where a mix of dai pai dongs (outdoor restaurants), market stalls, fortune tellers and old karaoke bars bring out the history and culture of the area. The neighbourhood is a showcase of diversity – different ethnicities, cultures, and a mix of old and new.

“If all you need is somewhere to place your bags in and somewhere to sleep at night, you may choose the cheapest room with no window.”

“The bigger rooms are not much more $$ so if you need space think about overbooking yourself. The largest is the familyroom (or double bed) and this is 10 sq meters, but with shower and "private" toilet.”

“First, look for European Hostel located on 14F of the same building. If you can't get that, then try this one!”
