I was actually expecting a lot from La Carmela since Mr. Boy Abunda has always been promoting this resort during all his shows, in addition to that, so many celebrities and even influencers have stayed in La Carmela and seemed to like their services. But, to my dismay, all my expectation weren't met, unfortunately. Food is average, our daily breakfast was always served ice cold, pool is massive and beautiful, location is priceless since it's near the beach and just near to everything else where. I just wished they can step up their services including personal services to their guests, most especially that there are already a lot of hotels booming as their competitors.
I know La Carmela has been there for countless years already, so why not make their legacy a good one. Overall, our room was okay, we waited for so long for our MUR, plus the ac in my mother's room is not functioning well.
Would love to consider this hotel once more as it is perfect for budget travelers like me. stayed for 9 nights with my partner, mother, and my sister, and we only paid PHP 25k for everything including their plated breakfast. I hope you consider all the points I have mentioned, See you soon, La Carmela. :)
We we're expecting a lot from La Carmela since Sir Boy Abunda keeps on promoting this hotel during all his tv shows.
Anyway, if you can try to have more budget on your accommodation, pls pls don't book here at La Carmela. They will assign your room on their VERY OLD building.
We cannot transfer to other hotel since its already fully booked.
So we asked them if we can just have a room upgrade and will pay extra. We we're transferred to a better room and a better building.
Anyway, below are some helpful items before you book this hotel.
1. Globe signal is very low on the rooms.
2. Wifi only available on common areas (lobby and dining area).
3. FO (Front Office) staff and their FO head are not accommodating. It looks like they are not enjoying their job. We didn't hear any apology when we raised our room concerns.
4. On our first day, we requested for a wake up call and we didn't receive any call. Again, we didn't hear any apology from them.
5. Wide variety of breakfast, but no taste at all. No bacon, no choice of egg (other than scrambled) and the hotdog tastes like a very cheap brand. Knowing that their standard/premiere room price starts at Php 2,500++ per night.
6. Hotel is located on station 2, but almost on station 3. So far.
7. Incomplete set up on rooms. We have to call FO for towels. The FO staff who answered was just saying "Uh huh, yes" sounds like she don't know what she's doing.
We we're so frustrated to think that my companion and I are working in the hotel industry for almost 9 yrs, that is why we know how you should treat the guests.
La Carmela should take seriously these reviews and know how to improve their hotel and the attitude of their Front Office staff.
2. My friends and I work remotely so we asked for the wifi password but we were told that it can only be used in the lobby not in our rooms which does not make sense.
3. We asked for the phone to be fixed in our room so for every inquiry we don't have to go down everytime but until the last day of our stay they still did not fix it.
4. When I went up to my room because I needed to poop, I was told that I could no longer eat my "free breakfast" that I paid for on Agoda because I went out of the lobby. I hardly ate and was told this. Awful service.
5. It was raining and we came from the beach and was told we can not enter their reastaurant because we were wet. We are at a beach island and it does not make sense to not allow your guests just because they are wet. It could have been nice if they offered a towel to dry us up but they just dismissed us.
No slippers provided
Pillows smell like old stock from cabinet it is not fresh smelling linens and bedsheets.
No smoking in the resort but does not provide smoking areas
1. The internet connection sucks!
2. The bathroom us always wet because there's no divider from the shower.
3. No one cleaned our room during our whole stay!
4. I asked for a spoon because I want to noodles but the staff told me it costs 30 Pesos. Only 2 teaspoons are allowed per room but we were 4 inside.
5. The breakfast buffet is so-so. Same menu everyday. I remember during our second day, I skipped the free breakfast and I ate somewhere.
The tv and the remote itself are not working the same with the other room our TV had to be replaced by an old one which also has a remote problem
And the sad part is no wifi at all but we were given a password too use for nothing...we were very very dissapointed
Not coming back to this hotel AGAIN...

However, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the dining area was full when we stayed.
Though it's uncommon to read negative comments about the staff's hospitality, we still felt welcomed during our stay.
There's a barbecue stand on the side of the hotel that you should try for dinner!
Since we only stayed for one night, this is still a good choice due to its affordable and economy room rates on the beautiful island of Boracay.
