We stayed three nights here around New Year. Accommodation in Singapore can be costly at the best of times, so choosing something across New Year was more of a challenge than usual. We ended up selecting the Hotel Clover 7, not least due to its excellent location near downtown and Clarke & Boat Quays. Despite having read reviews about the room sizes, it was a surprise to discover quite how small it was (and we've travelled extensively in Japan, where micro-rooms are very common). That said, the bathroom was a decent size, the free water & soft drinks in the room fridge were welcomed and the bed was comfy. However, there is zero room either side of the bed, suitcases need to be stored underneath, and we had to take turns packing or dressing in the narrow section of the room. There also only seemed to be one usable electric socket, semi-hidden within the bench unit. Thankfully, we spent much of the time out and about in the city, only returning to the room to sleep. However, it would have been a lot more comfortable had we chosen somewhere a little larger. Breakfast, served two doors down the street at Hotel Clover 5, offered a mix of Malaysian and western items. However, the small size of the breakfast room (only 18 seats, serving at least two hotels) made for a very cramped environment on one of the mornings. The staff were helpful at checkout, storing our bags while we spent the final day out and about. However, I think we'd try to find somewhere a little larger for a future visit.

I stayed at this hotel on a 3-day layover in Singapore on my way to New Zealand. By Singapore standards, I would say it’s pretty good value. It’s clean, close to Clarke Quay, and with easy access to the touristy stuff. The rain shower is also pretty great, especially after a long flight. As many people have already pointed out, the room is quite small and the length of the bed might be a problem for taller individuals. I myself am 1.65 m and my toes went over the edge of the (otherwise very comfortable) mattress. The air con blew very hard no matter what temperature you set it at and is indeed right above the head of the bed. Also I imagine people might find the idea of a windowless room unappealing, but I think it helped with my jet lag as I had no idea what time it was in there. One thing I would like them to improve is to put a hotel guide in the room. If there was one, I didn’t find it. And it should definitely come with a manual at times. I spent about 10 minutes in the dark trying to find the light switch before I figured out that there’s a central control panel for the lights on the vanity cabinet. I had to ask a member of staff where I could find an electrical socket (under a panel in the cabinet), and I had to find out from a TripAdvisor review where breakfast was (at the hotel next door). The front desk often goes unmanned so it would be great to have all this info at hand. A good place to stay if you’re passing through though!

So, here is the thing: room in Singapore is scarce and this hotel was one of the only ones offering a private room with ensuite bathroom within our budget. Let me say though, that if you are claustrophobic, this hotel is not for you. But, first off, if you know what you are getting into, this hotel is just fine. The location is great, there are many restaurants and tourist attractions within walking distance. Staff was quite friendly and helpful too. However, we didn't like to spend more time than necessary in this tiny room. The bed is really quite small and for a tall couple like us (me, 172cm and my partner 193cm) it was not really comfy to say the least. Also, in our room, the aircon blew right into our faces when lying in bed, no matter what mode (we ended up waking up with a sore throat...). What was more is that the little light on the fire alarm lit up the entire room so brightly at night, we had to put a bandaid on it to dim it a little :D But there is to say, that our room was considerably clean and quiet as well. There was a window in the room, which is not self-evident in Singapore hotels, but the automatic blinds could either be shut down completely or not at all. There was no in between, either daylight or darkness. In conclusion, I would not book this hotel again. We were quite glad to move to another, more spacious hotel room after four days at Clover 7. However, as said, if you are prepared to spend the nights in a tiny room (at a budget), this hotel is just fine.

We booked to stay here for 4 nights, we were due to be flying from Tokyo, however, we got stuck in Typhoon Hagibis. Tokyo was shut down and all transport to the airport was cancelled and all flights were cancelled for 3 days. We contacted hotel clover to inform them that we were stuck in a Typhoon, however, I received a rather abrupt email response saying they’d be unwilling to refund us any of the money we lost. We then arrived in Singapore, we had one nights worth at the clover still left. When we got to the hotel there was no one at reception. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to appear. He looked very confused when we said we were checking and didn’t actually have our information or room key at reception. He had to leave the hotel to go out and find our room key, still no idea where he went to. We got to the room and it was horrible. The room wasn’t big enough for us both to open our cases at the same time. The bathroom tiles were covered in mould and the shower curtain had unidentified orange stains all over it. The walls were bashed and covered in marks. The plaster on the bathroom ceiling was flaking off. It was really abysmal. We left and booked a stunning hotel for the same price further down the road. This place looks good in the pictures but it is a dump!

I know Singapore can be expensive, and even this small room was too. But, oh so small. Climbing, yes because you can't access either side, it's a right pain. The window blind could either be fully open our fully closed, not in between Strangely it felt like we had more room in the rail carriages we had on our trip from St Petersburg to Beijing It was clean, modern, decent shower , towels, bedding etc And very conveniently placed But yes, that is the bed jammed between the two walls

The size of the room I've got is no larger than my bathroom at home. Not to big boast how big is my bathroom at home, but as a comparison that this room at the hotel is ridiculously small. Perfect for single traveller and i love the size coz i cant get use to big space when im traveling alone. But, I so not see how 2 persons can possibly squeeze into that tiny room, with counter top probably less than 1 feet away from bed side where the sink is also there and toilet amenities are all squeeze on that narrow counter top. There's a cabin size luggage compartment below the bed, but, people traveling long haul with much bigger luggage, you might as well don't bother to stay here coz you'll get so frustrated without place for your luggage to open up coz me with a cabin size luggage was having hell trying to unpack and pack on that narrow walkway by the bedside. Nonetheless, this hotel is so conveniently located in Clarke Quay on a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by good restaurants just walks away. Raffles City is just 5mins by taxi and you can walk to Clark Quay central and the Clarke Quay waterfront is just right next door. 5mins walk away to china town. So, it's really convenient location. I would come back to stay again solely for this reason and maybe get a bigger room next time with enough luggage space. Dont expect closet as there's no space for it. A narrow toilet and shower. But very clean room and space. It's Singapore you know, everywhere is so clean. Thin wall and I can hear everything that's going on next door 🙈🙈 on purpose got myself a room with window, but there's no thin curtain. You either keep the blind down the whole time or get a cheaper room with no window.

We knew the room was small, but moving round each other with three suitcases was awkward. Not bad value for money considering the convenient location. Metro stations are close allowing easy access to the city. Short walk to the buzzing Clarke’s Quay. Friendly helpful staff at the desk and two lovely lads doing the breakfasts at the sister hotel next door.

I hate giving bad reviews, but I had a bad experience. Luckily it was only two nights I stayed here. I’ll list good and bad points: GOOD: Location. BAD: No space in the room at all not even for your suitcase. You’ll injure yourself if you stay here with a suitcase. Only one plug socket and for that you have to unplug the TV! Why barely any sockets? Flashing green light on the ceiling all night. What even is that? Shower head broke trying to use it. Housekeeping didn’t even fix it. They don’t clean the rooms. I went out for the day at 8am. Asked them to please clean my room today as I wanted fresh towels for a shower later. Came back it was still dirty. Asked them again to clean it, they said if I go out for 2 hours and come back it will be done (this was 2pm). Came back (4pm) and room was still dirty! Made a complaint and suddenly it was cleaned within 20 mins. It’s only okay for literally one night. Anything more, don’t stay here.
