Booking: Le Petit Club Room with Club Lounge Access, Guest Room, 1 Double (No view) Positive: Upgraded to Le Colonial Room upon arrival (same price point). = Why this conider upgrade ?? Food and lounge offerings were excellent. Friendly staff in the lounge area. Negative: -Conflicting information regarding upgrades: Reception initially stated the upgrade was a courtesy for being a Gold member. -reception told me that to be upgrade to orher type customer should book “Le Colonial Room” at first to get more upgrade -This inconsistency caused confusion and undermined the initial positive impression of the upgrade. :

Dear Joyfatc, Your experience sounds like a true rollercoaster ride, with ups and downs that could rival a dramatic play! Let's dive into this theatrical tale: Booking a Le Petit Club Room and being upgraded to a Le Colonial Room for the same price is indeed a pleasant surprise. It's like ordering a simple salad and being served a gourmet meal instead! However, the plot thickens with the conflicting information about the upgrade. One moment, it's a courtesy for being a Gold member, and the next, it's a suggestion to book the Le Colonial Room to secure a better upgrade. It's like being told you've won the lottery, only to be handed a scratch-off ticket. The inconsistency in communication might have felt like a plot twist that undermined the initial excitement of the upgrade. It's as if the hotel staff were playing a game of "Guess the Upgrade Rules" with you, leaving you feeling more puzzled than a detective in a mystery novel. Despite the confusion, it's heartening to hear that you enjoyed the food and lounge offerings, and that the staff in the lounge area were friendly. It's these moments of genuine hospitality that can turn a stay from mediocre to memorable. We will certainly take your feedback to heart and work on improving our communication to ensure that future guests have a smoother and more transparent experience. After all, every guest deserves a stay that's more comedy than drama. Here's to hoping your next visit will be a blockbuster hit!

The service in this hotel is exceptional! They had been very hands on since day 1 and really recommend the staff starting from the reception up until the people in the lounge and housekeeping. Will definitely book again when I go back here in Singapore!

We stayed one night as a stop on the way to Cambodia from the US. The hotel was beautiful and unique. They wouldn’t let us in early and didn’t offer us to sit in the lounge or anything. The front desk offered to make a reservation for us and then never did. The room was so tiny. It was New Years Eve and there was nothing special offered - not what you’d except from a 5 star hotel. The real standout of the hotel was its fine dining Indian restaurant, Shikar, which had the most amazing Indian food and such nice staff. The chef even came out and said hello and thank you. I still dream about this meal.

Dear e3fisher, It sounds like your stay was a bit of a mixed bag, a theatrical production with highs and lows. I'm delighted to hear that you found our hotel beautiful and unique, as we strive to create a truly memorable experience for all our guests. I must apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the early check-in and the missed reservation. Your comfort and convenience are of utmost importance to us, and it is disappointing to hear that we fell short in these areas. I will certainly address these issues with our front desk team to ensure that they are not repeated in the future. As for New Year's Eve, it is regrettable that we did not meet your expectations for a 5-star celebration. We always aim to make special occasions truly special for our guests, and I apologize for any disappointment you may have felt. I'm thrilled to hear that the real standout of your stay was our fine dining Indian restaurant, Shikar. It warms my heart to hear that you enjoyed the food and that our staff made such a positive impression. I will be sure to pass along your compliments to the chef and the rest of the team. Thank you for choosing to stay with us, and I hope that despite the challenges you faced, you will look back fondly on your stay with us. We would love to welcome you back in the future and provide you with the exceptional experience you deserve.

The hotel has potential, but there are a few things to consider when considering a stay here. They do not disclose this to you on the site or when you book. First, there is a major construction site that buttresses the Maxwell Reserve. If you don’t mind waking up to a digger excavating next to your window at 0630 or helping you sleep at 2100, this hotel is for you! My balcony was cordoned off by thick canvas, likely to protect it from the construction, rendering my room dark and cave-like. Again, if you always wanted that feeling without traveling to Cappadocia, this hotel is for you! Finally, while I lucked out with my room, my colleagues had rooms smaller than a NYC Mid-town hotel room. The staff is lovely, especially the front desk and restaurant, but the hotel falls short on other things for me to consider this a four or five-star. Rooms are well appointed but small things like missing creamer/milk for the coffee machine, lack of ironing board and very thing bath sheets. I wish I had read the reviews before we booked. The front desk says the construction is expected to go on for 2-3 years. Proximity to the CBD and Chinatown is good but there are many other options that I would recommend over the Maxwell.

Dear 358mayp, It sounds like your stay was an unexpected adventure, full of surprises and challenges. I appreciate your candid feedback and want to extend my sincerest apologies for the issues you encountered during your time with us. It's clear that we have some work to do to improve the overall guest experience. The construction noise and balcony situation are certainly not what we aim for, and I understand how frustrating it must have been to deal with these disruptions. We hope they finish sooner rather than later and hence almost have to encourage the speed of work than to stop...and yet one must continue with payroll and mortgages! Your description of the room sizes and missing amenities is also noted, and we will take steps to address these shortcomings immediately. While I'm glad to hear that our staff, particularly at the front desk and restaurant, made a positive impression, I know that this alone cannot make up for the other challenges you faced. Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we will use it to make meaningful improvements to our operations. I'm truly sorry that we fell short of your expectations and that you did not have the five-star experience we strive to provide. I hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future to show you the true potential of our hotel. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention, and I wish you smooth travels and more enjoyable stays ahead. Regards, Lady Boss

I had an absolutely fantastic stay at Maxwell Reserve Hotel in Singapore! The hotel is impeccably clean and situated in a prime location, just a stone's throw away from the historic old part of the city and vibrant Chinatown. The connectivity is superb, making it easy to explore all that Singapore has to offer. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, adding a warm touch to my experience.

Similar to Duxton, these Autograph branded Bonvoy group hotels in Singapore are superb. The club lounge was wonderful, particularly the gentleman from subcontinent who was serving and refused to take a tip in recognition of his great hosting. Rooms are beautifully appointed, even if the particular room had little natural light due to heritage building design. As someone who stays 100+ nights a year with Marriott group, cannot speak highly enough of the finishing, history, authenticity and service of this hotel. Tanjong Pagar is also a wonderful area to be in Singapore with beautifully restored shophouses and restaurants / bars.

The hotel was small and cozy , food was very good with few vegan options. Location is good near to Chinatown and Maxwell MRT station. Food Service was not great, due to short staff. Waiting time 30mins on average. Gym had no towels or disinfectant wipes for cleaning. There was 1 day I had no room service, don’t know why? There was construction happening next door all day, which I was not informed prior or after booking even though I called hotel twice to confirm mu booking 1 week before arrival.Evening was ok after 7pm when construction stopped. That construction caused the whole room to vibrate as if there was an earthquake.

Dear Wonder, It seems your stay was a true adventure, complete with unexpected twists and turns! I'm thrilled to hear that you found our hotel to be small and cozy, like a warm embrace at the end of a long day of exploration. And our location near Chinatown and Maxwell MRT station sounds like the perfect launching pad for your Singaporean adventures! Now, onto the food. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your meals, although I understand that the vegan options left something to be desired. I suppose we'll have to up our game to cater to our herbivore friends better! As for the challenges you faced, well, let's just say they were more like hurdles in a marathon. The long waiting times for food service due to short staff must have felt like an eternity, and the lack of gym towels and disinfectant wipes must have been a bit of a workout in itself! And let's not forget the mysterious case of the missing room service. A real head-scratcher, that one! I can only imagine the confusion and frustration you must have felt. Lastly, the construction next door causing your room to vibrate like an earthquake? Well, that's certainly one way to wake up in the morning! It seems you experienced a bit of a "shake-up" during your stay, quite literally! Despite these challenges, I hope you were able to find some humor in the situation and enjoy your time with us. Your feedback is invaluable, and we'll be sure to take it on board as we strive to improve our guest experience. We'd love to welcome you back in the future and provide you with a stay that's smooth sailing from start to finish!

Longing to experience Maxwell Reserve, my anticipation gave way to disappointment. The check-in process unfolded with a lack of professionalism at the front desk, where staff engaged in casual conversations in their language, seemingly oblivious to the guests waiting. Despite assurances from the reception, the room I received was a departure from the advertised ones, situated on the ground floor with tiny windows and an awkward pillar. Upon calling the reception for updates, promised callbacks never materialized, leading us to personally check for updates at the front desk, only to find the receptionist unaware of the situation. The bathroom experience further faltered as the shower gel bottle was empty, necessitating additional calls and a personal trip to the front desk. In the lounge, while the evening canapés were delightful, the ambiance lacked interaction. A discourteous incident occurred when I borrowed a book, and an unfriendly lady admonished, "put back the book once you're done, and don't bring it out from the lounge." Breakfast encountered its own share of rudeness as a gestured "wait" from a gentleman could have been replaced with a more polite verbal request. The check-out process mirrored the check-in, with prolonged waits and distracted staff engaged in casual chit-chat. While the property boasted beauty and impressive amenities, the overall experience was marred by staff inattentiveness and unprofessionalism. A decidedly disappointed stay that I cannot recommend.

Truly abysmal. Unfriendly welcome - no Marriott recognition Provided worse attic room - supposedly a “club” room - no light or windows, dingy and dirty and only accessible up a fire escape - total and utter joke. Staff story kept changing on whether there were other rooms available but only offers me exactly the same room on the same floor or one facing into construction. In the end decided to leave - took forever for them to confirm they would not charge me for more than one night. Left without staying there - no apology - front desk staff utterly clueless and disinterested. If this is the property standard and how they treat members then I would definitely avoid.

Maxwell Reserve is a terrific find nestled steps away from Maxwell Market in the historic Tanjong Pagar area. In the boutique tradition, expect petite and well-appointed rooms, a splendid location, atmospheric character, and an intimate, kind staff (Rufus at front desk was calm, welcoming, and always helpful). Bonvoy recognition was first rate: Platinum/Titanium are provided a fantastic breakfast, all day snacks and organic pressed juices, and a generous happy hour in the executive lounge featuring 5 beverages and 5 small dishes per person. Staying in executive suite and loved the classic fittings and Diptyque amenities. Even though there’s construction going on in the adjacent unit, I found the noise moderate and part-and-parcel of Singapore urban living. Gym quite fine for those who design/navigate their own workouts. Love the proximity to Gardens by the Bay, the Duxton Hill/Chinatown areas, scrumptious Maxwell Market, and would stay again in a heartbeat
