Great clean hostel in good location close to mrt. A little expensive but I think everywhere is pricey in singapore so it's ok. Nice staff and great layout of rooms. There wasn't really a sociable Vibe to meet other travellers of you're alone, but that didn't really matter.

Hi LACdublin, We appreciate your comments! Yes Singapore is very expensive for accommodation and we try hard to strike the right balance between costs (rental, amenities, breakfasts, 24 hour service, more space than others etc) and price (haven't raised for close to 2+ years). Not always easy, and we are always encouraged by feedback like yours.... Delighted your stay proved...

I stayed at Wink hostel for three nights and found it conveniently located a couple of minutes walk from the mrt station. It was even a short stroll down to boat quay and Clarke quay for places to eat and hang out. I stayed in the female dorm with 8 beds. The room was clean and I liked the way...

Excellence is the only word. Just that I wish I could use the washer and drier for free and there would be aircon in the lobby not just in the room. However, the room and place is very clean in general. Location wise is perfect as well, literally just 2-3 minutes walk from the Chinatown MRT. There are famous bak...

Hi Sashimilova, Thanks for finding time to share about your stay at Wink! Kind words and we are delighted you had a good stay. Yes, we're quite proud of the location :) and will reveal that we took a very long time to find this venue and an equally long time to sort out terms with the landlord to secure...

For those who have stayed before, the surrounding area is more livelier due to the numerous dining outlets.Free postcard is a nice gesture.Comprehensive information for tourists sights is available for those who are visiting Singapore for the first time.

I really like this place!! They have mixed dorm, male dorm and female dorm. Also there are separate shower room and toilet for male and female. There are 6-8 beds per dorm. I got a bed in a 8-dorm. I found the bed was so comfy, there is a personal reading light in each pod, there is a little space...

Singapore is expensive. We should not have gone for 3 nights and neither should you if you can't afford the Wink, because the cheaper places to stay are dirty! Wink was really clean. We wanted a private room (me and my boyfriend) but they only offered dorm beds. We were lucky and happened to get an empty room. It was...

It's my 2nd stay here. This hostel is using a 'pod style' of bed which feels more private than the regular bunk bed used in most of hostel. As I am not a backpacker type of traveler, that kind of thing is very important for me. The bathrooms are always available for us to use, means that they have enough...

Hi Vesta5675, Ouch... it's embarrassing to have your issues aired publicly. No excuses - sorry - the air-conditioning in our Flame of the Forest Room did leak over last weekend. We cleaned the filter immediately, and had our contracted AC vendor come immediately the next working day for a thorough check. This is disturbing as we already have very regular...

This hostel is the best hostel I have ever been in all my travels, why? Its on the expensive side but the price matches the quality. I felt safe and...

Hi chocolatenomad, Delighted you enjoyed your stay at Wink! Thanks very much for sharing your experience. We are particularly pleased to hear you felt safe here as it's a understandable concern for guests staying in shared accommodation. We have the same worries as we ourselves travel -- and try hard in this area (24 hours service; Smart Card doors and...

We stayed in a pod room. Cost us $50 Singapore dollars a night so not the most backpacker budget friendly but it is Singapore. The place was immaculate. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Pods are great, air con was even better. Located real close to Chinatown MRT station. Wi-fi was fine in my room, but I was adjacent to the reception. Price the only downside but all of Singapore accom was pricey so they more or less hit the mark given what they offer.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.
