We enjoyed a two-night stay at the Chinatown Hotel and found the location to be excellent as it was right in the thick of things in Chinatown, being a short walk from Food Street, Club Street, Chinatown MRT and Outram Park MRT. There are also several bars and restaurants on the road of the hotel. The hotel itself is a...

When my friend wanted to check in, the staff talking to the Shipping crews or guests sitting down to my surprise! I was shock when I saw this. That staff need to see a doctor since he do not know how to stand when talking to a person.

The property is old and smells musky - a bit too pricey for this condition ($243 for two nights including taxes). Overall, the room is acceptable but I found some short hair still stuck to the bed sheet and cover (looked like a male's), including on the wall of the toilet. The double bed moved around when slightly pushed. Having...

Although the room was small for 2 (usual for Singapore unless you want to spend bags of money), it was safe, clean, the air con worked great, and the location was hard to beat, only 5 mins. walk to the MRT, within walking distance to Maxwell Food Court and many good restaurants. The bathroom was small too, and the shower...

I slept for a night only, but my experience is enough I think! My two luggages and my carry-on bag were enough to fill the empty space of the room. I had to jump one of my bags in order to go to the bathroom. Bed was single but comfortable. Bathroom wa nice. In general was clean. A bad thing...

Friendly service, Tiny, but clean and comfortable rooms. Rooms are small and there is nowhere to unpack or hang anything. While I would not recommend this for a longer holiday, it's perfect for a short stopover when all you need is a good nights sleep. Quiet location, yet within walking distance to shopping cafes and restaurants.

Small and closy room, beside toilety, there are no others supplies, such as bottle water, writting table, etc. Overall impression is okay. Room is clean, but the walkway are smelly. The hotel located between two MRT stations, Chinatown & Outram MRT station, it provide travellers easy access to anywhere.

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Chinatown is a classic combination of colourful sights, enticing smells, and sometimes startling sounds. The precinct is unique, however, in its blending of religions and cultures. A Hindu temple, an Islamic mosque, and a Chinese Buddhist temple sit almost side by side. This sense of cultural harmony continues as you venture just outside of Chinatown to the nightlife areas of Club Street and Duxton Hill. There you’ll mingle with Singapore’s multicultural residents at the modern bars and restaurants dotting the bustling streets. An afternoon in and around Chinatown will leave you culturally enlightened, well fed, and loaded with souvenirs. In the evening, reward yourself with a well-deserved cocktail as the locals come out to play.

“If you are determined to stay here, and it suits some of course, then ask for a back room as it will be for sure quieter than one over the front where from experience of the area I know it gets quite noisy and raucous on the social scene and cars although it is quite a narrow road width.”
