The room are moldy, leaking, and flooded. The glassware are dirty. Nobody make the bed or empty the trash, we have to do it alone. The staff are not helpful. Even the room are not in the address they put on the website. It located like 2 blocks away from the main address.

I prefer to stay in this hostel every time I visit Singapore. Affordable hostel with 8, 10 or 12 beds in a room, pricing as cheap as 22$ per bed per day. Breakfast offered free. Dining hall, lounge with TV and seating outside. Overall comfortable for short time Singapore visits

We had an wonderful experience during our last tour to Singapore. We were on a business trip for about a week and we were looking for something inexpensive to cut down our budget. Checkers Backpackers has all the basic needs what you need while you stay abroad. I am satisfied with cooperation from Mr. Philip during my stay and Happy...

Stayed for a night and was absolutely disgusted. I was willing to look past the foul smell, dirty bathrooms and bugs. But where I drew the line was when I was given a dirty pillowcase (with god knows what on it) and upon removing the filthy pillowcase discovered that the pillow itself had relatively fresh blood on it. Add on...

Horrible mold smell in gross bathrooms. No hand soap either.Mold on the walls by my lower bunk bed. Girlfriend had blood on her pillow. Expected much higher standards of cleanliness in Singapore. Not exactly cheap either.

we stayed here for 4 nights in August 2016 with our 2 young children (aged 3 & 6) we were given a "family room"/private dorm with our own bathroom. It was quiet, clean, the AC worked great. The staff were friendly and very welcoming of our children.

Stayed here in two of my trips to Singapore! Value for cash is ok! Wifi and breakfast is free. Staff are accommodating and they allow you to check in early. Kitchen and living room and toilets are shared. If you are travelling on a budget, alone or with friends its ok. But not recommended for family travel or couples travel.

Staying in Little India

Neighbourhood Profile
Little India
With a strong local Indian community, this pocket of Singapore can feel like another place and time. Wander past traditional barbershops while local residents in brightly coloured saris patronize retailers from decades past. Peruse streets lined with colourful shops as the aroma of curry tempts you to indulge. Listen to the Bollywood music echoing from storefronts and take in the stalls selling bright flowers, fabrics, and spices. At the 24-hour, four-level Mustafa Shopping Centre, you can shop through the night and find everything from pharmacy and grocery items to Bollywood DVDs and diamond necklaces. Singapore’s Little India offers a colourful, lively taste of the subcontinent and is well worth the visit.
