Hotel's Favourite
We were warmly greeted by the front desk staff and offered a complimentary welcome tea. Mr Thomas led us to our assigned room (we requested a room with our surname labelled). We were presently surprised by a handwritten welcome card as well. Setback: The sink was clogged and the shower head holder was loose. We informed the front desk staff of the issues, they were quick to respond and rectify them. Kudos to the staff! To conclude, it was a relaxing and enjoyable 3D2N stay for my spouse and I. I will recommend to anyone who needs a totally different staycation here.

The hotel, staff, Tina, Letitia, and Jolene were the warmest friendliest staff we’ve come across. We arrived late, and Jolene greeted us with a smile and some welcome tea. Our room was great, location, perfect with the hotel, located in a historic building. we did unfortunately experience a thought with the air conditioning during the night, but a cool down to reception and we got an immediate response from the team and we were transferred to a new Room without us asking. Great service and lovely staff, we will be back. Thank you .

We were given a very cheerful friendly and professional welcome by Tina and Thomas to this unique oriental style hotel with its calm and relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed a special Christmas Tree Lighting with carols at their sister hotel hosted by the very friendly Letitia. The staff are always welcoming and happy as we pass through reception. The hotel is well situated for sightseeing and the Telok Ayer station opposite is a big advantage. Walking through the museum at the front entrance is a special and unique experience. The room was very comfortable. Great shower, washing facilities and excellent air-con.

Cute little boutique hotel. Lots of spots for you to take that instaworthy photo. There is also a small museum at the hotel featuring heritage items. Room is adequately sized and cozy. Front desk reception staff were friendly and approachable. A special mention goes to Thomas who made our stay at the hotel a wonderful experience with his impeccable service.

It was an unique accomodation in old Singapore style shophouse and very convinient location to bars and restaurants as well as business area. Location and cleanliness was no problem, rather good enough, but renovated guest floor was like as maze and it is easy to hear flushing toilet and noise of hair dryer once someone use it in next or opposite room even early morning.

The location is great if you want to easily access Singapore's touristy locations by walking or metro. The area is also absolutely filled with fantastic restaurants and the repurposed hotel building is kind of cute. The downside of this is though, you will not sleep. At least on floor 2 you will hear the bars until late night when they close and cafes from 8 am when they open. I am not sure how much they can fix it, but the sound will reverberate along the building and into the bed so if your head is resting against the pillow you will definitely hear it clearly.

The Amoy is a unique and charming boutique hotel that appears to have been converted from a previous temple and old shophouses. Due to the architecture of the original structures, the layout of the hotel is unusual and a bit meandering, making it fun to explore. There are two entrances to the hotel with one being through the original front door of the 1800’s temple and the other through a large, open airy covered courtyard that incorporates other renovated shophouses and temples that have been converted into restaurants and bars. This covered area and adjacent intersecting pedestrian area are filled with people on Friday and Saturday nights so one may want to request a room not facing the courtyard if one is a troubled sleeper. The hotel is located very close to three MRT train lines (DTL, NSL and EW lines) making it extremely convenient to navigate the city. The Amoy is also located a few blocks away from The Amoy Food Centre and the Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre. Telock Ayer and Amoy streets are filled with restaurants, bars and stores and scattered temples and street murals. Ann Siang Hill and Chinatown are close by and can provide endless hours of exploring, eating and drinking. Each room of the hotel is unique due to the building’s original layout. All rooms have a tasteful modern Asian theme with a stocked minibar (refreshed daily), Nespresso machine and pods, electric kettle, tea, and gourmet potato chips. The shower has a large rain shower head with good water pressure and the shower floor appears to be a teak equivalent. Thoughtful touches such as a nightlight option on the bed frame make navigating the bathroom easy in the middle of the night, despite the stairs in the room. The mattress was firm but I have noticed during my travels in Singapore and Malaysia that all of the mattresses have been firm and uncomfortable for me, personally. The Wi-Fi in the room is fairly strong and intermittently consistent. If the reserved hotel package includes breakfast, the meal can be obtained at Henri or Genius Central, which is a health-bent eatery. One place is in the previously described open courtyard and the other is a few steps away on the corner of the street. One can have luggage stored after checkout if one has a later flight. A room is provided to shower and freshen up before one’s flight(s). What makes the hotel truly special to me is the amazing staff! Letitia, the front office manager, was warm, interested, professional and addressed a noise concern that I had quickly. Thomas, the Guest Service Executive, was always smiling and ready to assist in any way possible. The remaining staff was friendly and warm. Just a note that as I was checking out if the hotel, Thomas told me that a new Thai restaurant was moving into a currently open space next to the lobby which had been previously occupied by a Japanese restaurant that had moved to a bigger location. I am not sure how this new endeavor will affect the noise situation of the hotel. I highly recommend this unique boutique hotel; one will not be disappointed.

Good environment with a nice touch of oriental elements. Rooms were perfect. With many f&b options nearby just for weekdays. Do note most f&b nearby are not opened during the weekend. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is a lovely boutique hotel sandwiched between China Town and the CBD. About 30 minutes walk maximum to all major tourist sights and very well connected to public transport. Choice of breakfast from 2 restaurants was also lovely. Great stay!
