Hotel Mono is a chic hideaway set in six historic shop houses of modern design. The rejuvenated buildings retain their original charm with characteristics air wells and Rococo-era windows, seamlessly interwoven with the culture of traditional Singapore and urban bustle of the city.
This boutique hotel is conveniently located a stone’s throw away from Chinatown MRT, just walk past a row of shophouses and you’ll see the distinct black-and-white 3-storey shophouse that has been converted into Hotel Mono. The room is surprisingly spacious for a shophouse boutique hotel and very clean. Every furniture is only in black and white colors. Unique monotone. We have two comfortable queen beds with four pillows on each bed, a sofa bed, a fixed long table to the wall that can seat two persons. There is also a proper wardrobe for us to hang our clothes and a side bench to put our bags and luggage. The bathroom is not big but sufficient, and we love the scent of the body wash and shampoo. The bath towels are also soft and fluffy. This hotel doesn’t have the luxury of…

Room is smaller than expected although true to pictures. The front office staff were absolutely kind and friendly. Basic toiletries are provided in a pouch; shampoo, bathing soap, sanitary bag, toothbrush set, shaving kit, slippers, hairdryer etc. Two towels per set, consisting of a large and small one. Water kettle is provided, along with coffee and tea. Windows can be opened. Surrounding is amazing as there were so many food options. Walking distance to Chinatown MRT & Chinatown Point. Recommended restaurant: 东方美食 Some room for improvement: The mini fridge is not very cold. Cleanliness could be better as there are a couple small ants on the table, bedside tables were a little dusty. Overall, very happy with the stay due to the convenience and basic comfort for the…

i really liked the hotel, but then i like quirky things. as long as you are prepared for noises (it's a converted shophouse structure with a busy road right below for god's sakes) you'll be fine. room was immaculately clean, design is black & white simply classy, good view of the comings & goings on the street below (with accompanying people & vehicle sounds). the neighboring room had a bunch of rowdy kids but that's just down to bad luck, i suppose. was a little confusing getting to & leaving the room as you traverse the buildings so got to remember the route & recognize the right doors! was a little disturbed that the hotel hosts covid quarantine guests so would had been nice to find out about that before booking.

I have prepared myself after reading some of the reviews here and I’m totally agreed with them. Because it is a boutique hotel converted from an old shophouses, so the sound barrier wasn’t good enough. You could hear people walking pass your door outside, people closing their door and people speaking near your room. I got my small room that situated in the middle of the hotel, which has a window but not looking outside. Those who familiar with old houses would know that’s a airy space in the centre of every old houses. So you could hear the raindrop when it get heavy. Other than the noise, I could say it is still a comfortable stay and the staffs were very friendly here.

This was an impromptu 1 night stay and I chose this property as it was having a generous offer for their rooms. I booked their standard room and I am pleased to say that it was clean and was well maintained. Check in was smooth and fast. Loved the simplicity of the rooms. Just take note that their rooms are small but cosy. Highly recommend this hotel as it is wallet friendly.

I had a wonderful stay for 1 day. A beautiful and wonderful stay. The room is small but very comfortable for 1 person. I just love the theme of the room and hotel. White and black and simple. Reminds me of MUJI. I also met spencer who remembered my birthday. Bought me a gift and even show me the various rooms they have.I am impressed with the svc. He went beyond his duty. You will certainly enjoy your stay here. Too bad I only stay for a night. Will certainly come back. Thx HOTEL MONO. Thx Spencer

Paid $124 SGD through Agoda website for room only. Minimalist room with queen size bed & small but modern bathroom with rain shower. View down over street. Very noisy: traffic, people talking downstairs on the street, neighbour noise from slamming doors. 2 500ml bottles of water provided. Free wifi but didn’t use. Small TV. Good location in centre of Chinatown.

My friends and I celebrated my hen’s night over the weekends at Hotel Mono, and are pleasantly impressed by your front line staff, Spencer. He is witty, hospitable, and went the extra mile to prepare cake and ice as a surprise for us. His customer service is absolutely top-notch and delightful! :) Kudos to Spencer!

I wouldn't recommend and will not be coming back if they are not going to improve on their sound proof problem. my friends and I are having problem sleeping because the room above is moving around and we can hear their foot steps loud and clearly at 350am to 430am(the time when I m typing this review, Im not sure whether they stop or not). my friend called the front desk 3 times and they did do their part as we noticed after the call the noise stopped for A WHILE. Then, it's back! If I can't even sleep or rest in a hotel, I think it failed its purpose as a hotel. So as a self reminder NEVER book this hotel ever again. I really wanna go home 😭
