Detailed Reviews
Stayed 1 night in mono. I would say it was kind of disappointing seeing how good the reviews were. Comfort level was not there.
Pros:
1. Good location
2. Polite staff
Cons:
1. Room was small, the table was small and uncomfortable, how can anyone possibly use their laptop and work there if need to.
2. Room is very bare and basic, the finishing wasn't good, wall paint dirty at some areas, it is just pretty raw, I hate the floor tiles.
3. Aircon could not be switched off when it gets too cold, u can only turn it up.
4. The room was damp in the morning, condensation on the floor tiles, floor was damp, u can't go bare foot, even the room slippers make u slip cos the floor was wet.
5. Bedsheets felt like it had a sticky layer, I have probably slept in at least 20-30 hotels room cos I have been travelling for 30 years and stayed in budget/business/luxury hotel and apartments, but never encountered bed sheets that felt like this. I could hardly sleep.
6. Noise, its true, u can hear people walking, talking along corridors, and tv noise from other rooms. pretty bad.
7. Toilet shower head was mouldy.

Been wanting to try here and finally did.
Good location. Very close to Chinatown Point and walking distance to others.
Very quaint entrance. Love the staircase. The lift is old school which i liked. Staff at reception was very friendly.
Got a Double Deluxe room.
SMALL! Probably justifies the fact that a picture is but a picture.
You have about 1-metre distance around the bed to move about.
The bathroom/toilet is rather dark. You cannot open the window because you are exposing yourselves to the building across the street. Probably may not be the case if your room face elsewhere.
The blinds in the room had to be drawn down for the same reason. Which made it a bit dingy cos no window. You can close the window pane (its double layered).
At night, you can't really have a good sleep because of the sounds from the eateries along the road. The sounds were very clear. You can really join in their conversation. It was as if you were with them.
The TV channes super limited. Wifi was rather odd on laptops.
Manual adjustable aircon was good.
Hot shower was awesome.
I might wanna try their bigger rooms next time.

Locating in the center of the heritage China town area, affordable place to stay for a short while. Walking distance to metro and restaurants, bars, shopping malls. It can be tight if you bring two suitcases and stay in a standard double room.

i really liked the hotel, but then i like quirky things. as long as you are prepared for noises (it's a converted shophouse structure with a busy road right below for god's sakes) you'll be fine. room was immaculately clean, design is black & white simply classy, good view of the comings & goings on the street below (with accompanying people & vehicle sounds). the neighboring room had a bunch of rowdy kids but that's just down to bad luck, i suppose. was a little confusing getting to & leaving the room as you traverse the buildings so got to remember the route & recognize the right doors! was a little disturbed that the hotel hosts covid quarantine guests so would had been nice to find out about that before booking.

Came here for 2d1n staycation. Hubby book the moat biggest room, smth like a loft. Check in was damn slow? Had to wait for quite a while for check in.
Room is great, big and very spacious. Toilet is great.
However, i think the couch is somehow dusty as my husband got hives the entire body JUST BY SEATING THERE. This was a the bottom level of the loft. We had to wipe using wet wipes, wipe douwn the couch and also get my husband to shower, to cool down the hives.
Will i come back again? Definately nope. Not an amazing experience i wanna experience ever again!

Paid $124 SGD through Agoda website for room only. Minimalist room with queen size bed & small but modern bathroom with rain shower. View down over street. Very noisy: traffic, people talking downstairs on the street, neighbour noise from slamming doors. 2 500ml bottles of water provided. Free wifi but didn’t use. Small TV. Good location in centre of Chinatown.

Came in and dropped our bags at reception as the room was not ready which was not a problem to us as check in is at 3pm. Great location only 5 mins walk to mrt Chinatown station, big quad family room and near food, souvenir shops surrounding the hotel. I will come back again. Thanks to Receptionist Celia for being helpful with information.

This small boutique hotel location in a renovation row of slop houses is perfect . The price is low for Singapore. The rooms are small but comfortable and clean . The bathroom shower is excellent. The location is ideal. The street is quiet, on the edge of Chinatown. Close to MRT station. You can walk downtown or jump on the MRT and get anywhere quickly. Eat local. Lots of places nearby.

This was an impromptu 1 night stay and I chose this property as it was having a generous offer for their rooms. I booked their standard room and I am pleased to say that it was clean and was well maintained. Check in was smooth and fast. Loved the simplicity of the rooms. Just take note that their rooms are small but cosy. Highly recommend this hotel as it is wallet friendly.

Hi,
In the room where I was staying, there were two larger beds and then there was also a sofa that you could unfold into a bed. The description is right!
Hope this helped!
No theu wont allow it they have bad customer service
Hi. Cots are available free of charge. However we found the rooms smaller than usual and a cot makes the movable space even more cramped. This means that if you have luggage to store as well, it becomes quite uncomfortable to move around. So make sure you ask for the squire foot area of the relevant room since as stated on my original review the photos do make the rooms look bigger then they really are
Having said that Hotel Mono does have some good positives as well, its close to Chinatown and the MRT and is clean
Good luck with your choice. Best regards
S
Hi Teresa, there's a tinted glass door between bedroom and bathroom but sneaking in and out is possible. The transparent door is the one between the shower and the toilet, and no curtain. Hope this helps.
