Detailed Reviews
A tired, declining establishment with escalating maintenance issues. Maximum of 3 minutes of shower hot water (on my last morning I got a minute), dripping air conditioning, blown lights, a bar fridge that was barely cold. Complaints met be absolutely indifference by staff. I was there for a 5 night stay. No offer made to change my room. Nothing. No services available to guests, not even some ice when I asked for it. To be avoided. Stay somewhere else.

My friends and I celebrated my hen’s night over the weekends at Hotel Mono, and are pleasantly impressed by your front line staff, Spencer.
He is witty, hospitable, and went the extra mile to prepare cake and ice as a surprise for us.
His customer service is absolutely top-notch and delightful! :)
Kudos to Spencer!

The location is perfect. Easy access to MRT. Don’t trust the photo in their web site. I m a so disappointed. Hotel is running down. Toilet is mould. There is no ventilation in the shower. Toilet is smelly. This might happen to only my room. They won’t change your bed sheet due to environment. So best not to stay more than one night. The bath mat we used for 4 days are disgusting and we still have to use it! Not all the facilities are available in the hotel Such as washing machine. Feeling stay in the cheap smelly hotel. The house keeping starts cleaning the room at 4 pm! If you want to relax in your room after a long trip, best to come back in the evening. It s not worth to pay their price comparing the service we have. Good thing reception is nice and helpful.

My friend and I excitedly arrived at this hotel with great expectations. We were in shock and almost in tears about 30 mins later. The room we were given was disgusting. Dirty bed linen, dirty walls, cramped space, urine and hair on the toilet seat, dirty toilet bowl... and heaps of cigarette butts thrown out the tiny window. Disappointed is an understatement. Expensive disaster. We walked out and never looked back, finally getting our refund a week later. Go elsewhere

Monotony gets placed on a pedestal as an oddly effective palette of black and white is implemented on-site, enabling an unlikely atmosphere of sophistry to reverberate throughout. The less is more adage evidently has been adopted with a disciplined fervour as we encountered homely furnished spaces minus the unnecessary clutter. As far as making a fashion statement without coming across as overly ostentatious is concerned, the design masterminds of Hotel Mono have largely succeeded.
By a stroke of luck, we managed to secure a studio king (inventory for this mid-tier room apparently gets sold out rather quickly). Spanning a mere 22 sq metres, somehow it managed to comfortably accommodate a king-sized bed, sofa, living area plus bathroom without making one feel claustrophobic. Exceptionally clean and neat all around, however the floorboards creak on occasion and the LCD television mounted on the wall offered dismally poor viewing resolution. Alas, not quite picture perfect.
Then again, overall quality of customer service certainly leaves much to be desired. We consistently encountered stone cold faces at the front desk and along the corridors who probably reckoned it was excessive to properly greet guests, rendering the overall mood beyond chilly. Nary a smile witnessed save for a very bubbly Cassandra who was equal parts courteous and helpful, so yes kudos to her. Don't expect cleaning folks to promptly attend to requests for tidying up of rooms either, as some of them seem more contented huddled in a corner gossiping away. So much for warmth and genuine hospitality.
Will the management of Hotel Mono kindly take heed and exercise exquisite care to remedy these shortcomings? We remain hopeful this dainty little property still desires to become anything but ordinary.

Stayed here for a couple of days and had a great stay!
Spencer on reception was super helpful and gave such great service. I was really early so my room wasn't ready but there was a big bathroom where I could get changed and sort my things to leave in the hotel while I explored. He said he could email when the room was ready but didn't end up coming back until the check in time anyway.
The room was tiny (great for solo travellers but not sure I would've wanted to share!) but was lovely as was the bathroom. Shower pressure was good although the temperature was a bit all over the place so I think the hotel should look at that.
Location is perfect- right near the MRT chinatown for bus and underground.
I'd highly recommend this hotel and would stay again when I go back to Singapore.

Location of this hotel is great! Loved the close proximity to all the chinese food/stores around. There are restaurants open past midnight around this area and they are delicious.
Front desk staff was unfriendly, he was not mean or anything but did not show one welcome smile despite us being pretty friendly people.
We had such a short stay- just one night and also left really early in the morning.
It took us about $15 USD by Grab Taxi (Which you should be using if you don't have one yet) one way from the SIN airport.
Room was the smallest we have ever stayed at...
We had suitcases but we could not even open them because of the space.
Bathroom is right next to your face/bed and you can hear everything that's happening in the bathroom. If you have a longterm partner, this may not be a problem but don't book this hotel if you are a new couple. You will be embarrassed to go to the bathroom.
Overall, if you are looking for a great location for cheap- this is a great option!
If you are trying to be romantic, don't book it here.

Hotel overall was great, we stayed 4 nights in total. Great location with it being 3mins walk away from the MRT which is extremely convenient. We never caught a taxi anywhere, Singapore has such an organised public transport system and super cheap as well. Staff were lovely and courteous.
Only negatives were the shower temperature decreased as you were in the shower, it went from hot to warm/cold quite quick. Shower pressure was amazing though!
Our room was situated away from the elevator and the rooms facing the street which we were thankful as the walls were quite thin. Anyone walking down the hallway we would hear from inside.
Rooms service tended to be cleaned at around 4-5pm which was always the time we would come back to relax before going back out at night. Many places around the world I’m used to this service happening around 12-2pm. Didn’t bother be a great deal but felt quite intrusive when you’re relaxing in your room and cleaning staff want to clean you room.
Overall highly recommend Hotel Mono! Clean, friendly staff and great location!

visto e prenotato su internet e terribilmente sporca.

We booked into here as the location is fantastic. In Chinatown, walking distance to so many things, and 1min walk to the Chinatown MRT (which has been extended, you can go to so many places now).
Upon check in, we had booked the Studio room, as we wanted the space. Unfortunately we were given a room that was still tiny, and quite dirty. Basic spots like windows and shelves were so filthy. Stains on the couch. We requested a change, as this room was right next to the elevator, and we noticed that another room (family room, rated at 3sqm bigger than the studio room), was far bigger. At least double the size.
Luckily reception changed our room, but it was still quite small. Just a poor use of space really. This room was also very dirty, just basic things still such as shelves, windows, stains on the couch and floors. It's like they just change sheets and put water in the fridge and walk out.
The aircon was very loud, the clothes hanger broke which showed exposed wires, like a 5 year old had wired up the lights.
I wanted to like this place, it looks very nice in photos, but it's not what it's cut up to be.

Hi,
In the room where I was staying, there were two larger beds and then there was also a sofa that you could unfold into a bed. The description is right!
Hope this helped!
No theu wont allow it they have bad customer service
Hi. Cots are available free of charge. However we found the rooms smaller than usual and a cot makes the movable space even more cramped. This means that if you have luggage to store as well, it becomes quite uncomfortable to move around. So make sure you ask for the squire foot area of the relevant room since as stated on my original review the photos do make the rooms look bigger then they really are
Having said that Hotel Mono does have some good positives as well, its close to Chinatown and the MRT and is clean
Good luck with your choice. Best regards
S
Hi Teresa, there's a tinted glass door between bedroom and bathroom but sneaking in and out is possible. The transparent door is the one between the shower and the toilet, and no curtain. Hope this helps.
