I have been to this hotel many times despite the fact that it was recently opened last year and the impression is consistent - VERY POSITIVE. I booked directly with the hotel and I am very happy I did that. When I email reservation for some inquiry, the reply was very prompt and efficient by Cassandra who is easily the best hotel personnel I have come across my entire life. She is very professional and always with smile. I am very glad I met her in person! She checked me in and the process is simple -fast and efficient.

Cassandra has arranged us exactly what we requested to the best of her ability/availability. We also needed help with direction and route planning and she went extra miles by even calling the shop for me! I cant say this is oriental service mind since I travel around Asia a lot and Cassandra at Hotel Mono is truly exceptionally amazing.

The other front desk lady (believed she is Korean) also is very nice and friendly. Even the gentleman at night shift is also helpful. He may not be super sweet but he promptly replied to my request with knowledge to his answer. I can't complain.

The location of the hotel is very very close to Chinatown MRT station and the hotel itself is decently quiet. The decor is modern and classy while everything looks super new and clean. Internet works well. Air conditioning works great (we need it for Singapore - seriously).

Last appreciation to the housekeeping crew, my room is spotless and very clean everyday. I met one of the crew a few times and I have to give big kudos to the gentleman who cleans third floor since I know he is surely responsible for my room. Not only that, he has a great sense of how to put things, how things should be moved etc.

Keep up the good work and thanks again for everyone who makes my stay very pleasant every single time!!!!

The hotel is very new and so the room was in a good clean condition. Modern and minimalist so not too many amenities. The air-conditioning is powerful so you will stay cool here.

Location is excellent. It's right in the heart of Chinatown so it is close to a lot of different food options and close to other things to see. The location is very accessible given its proximity to the MRT via Chinatown Station.

I had a single room which basically had a double bed. Good size for one person and it is an "internal" room so the window faces nothing but a wall. This was fine for me mostly because it resulted in a very quiet night. If you have a larger room that is outward facing, you may end up getting a lot of the street noise, but from what I could see, Mosque street does not get a whole ton of traffic. Also, if you're traveling with others, be warned the bathroom is enclosed in glass.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Although for the 4 nights I stayed, my room was only made once -- this was in large part due to the very lateness of housekeeping. I would return to the hotel for the day to get ready for dinner around 4 or 5 p.m. and the room would still not be cleaned. Not a big deal to me, but for others, it may be a nuisance.

As the photos show you, this is extremely stylish accomdation that has all of the provisions expected of a comfortable hotel. It is in one of the top locations in Singapore within a few minutes' walk of excellent cafes, bars, food courts and restaurants of all sorts, as well as some tourist attractions. It is also around the corner from an MRT station.

On top of that, the service was excellent. I had booked the wrong dates and Cassandra from the front desk organised a refund from the booking agent and put me and my family into new rooms. When the owner saw we had a baby, they went out and bought us a crib to use and then upgraded the room at no extra charge so that it would fit more comfortably.

Throughout our stay, we would have friendly greeting and advice from the workers at Hotel Mono, ordering us Grab car services at cheap rates and telling us the best places to eat and shop.

We will be wholeheartedly recommending Hotel Mono to all our friends.

We stayed 4 nights in a deluxe room. Deluxe rooms have a window, double bed, tv, refrigerator, air conditioning, hairdryer and access to wi-fi. Cleaning service can be arranged at the reception. Hotel staff is very friendly. There is no meal option but good and cheap restaurant can be found next to the hotel. The hotel is situated close to the underground station China Town. I definitely can recommend it!

The monochromatic, minimalist style of the hotel is very modern and stylish but is very basic.

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to rest and sleep, this is it.

It is just a short walking distance from Chinatown MRT and a 15-minite walk to Clark Quay.

This hotel gave me a mixed feelings towards the boutique hotels as a whole. Whilst the pictures on booking websites showed nice rooms with tone deaf decorations, truth is not all the rooms are nice. The beds are comfortable but the way the property and room layout is structured, everything felt awkward.

This hotel is very well located at the heart of Chinatown and its only 5 min walk to the CBD core. It’s located next to the Amoy St Hawker Centre and also in the other direction it’s 10 min walk to Clarke Quay/Boat Quay night life district.

Checking in and out was a breeze and that was all the contact with the staff I had so I couldn’t fault the service. The rooms were expectedly small but since I stayed in a double room so it was not as small as some of the rooms I’ve seen on Tripadvisor reviews.

The main issue was that the room was incredibly smelly. It felt very moist at the first point that I got into the room. The room I stayed could definitely use a better ventilation and sunlight.

Not only that, many things in the room: the furnishing and the paint and the tiles in the bathroom were poorly maintained making the experience felt worse than it actually is.

This stay has me rethinking my travel strategy of going to boutique hotels as often as I can for my business travel. Whilst I wanted to see what’s out there in hospitality business today, I wanted to come home from business in a clean and well maintained room.

All in all; if you want a centrally located accommodation that is highly affordable: yes stay here. If not, there are better deals elsewhere. What I had in mind was this was going to be AMOY Hotel-lite. Turned out it was a book that didn’t quite match its cover.

I stayed 6 nights for business trip at September. It’s nice downtown location. Easy to access anywhere such as restaurants, shopping malls, mrt. Decoration is clean n nice. I got enough space in my room. It’s big room in Singapore. Receptionists are really nice. Also at quiet street at night.

My personal experience during a short stay in this hotel in the Chinatown district of Singapore was one of the best I had. Firstly, I simply love the theme (minimalist-urban-industrial). Then the lovely reception, Ms. Dias, was very kind to make sure that the room was fully prepared during check-in. She was also very pleasant to speak with. The room smelled so nice, clean and everything pristinely done including crisp bedsheets. Location of the single room with window was in a quiet section of the hotel far from the street noise. The cleaning person also was very helpful in providing me an iron/board speedily. Fast wifi/internet, english news channels (RT and DW), ample room warm lighting, lots of hot water for shower and very clean toilet & shower. Last but not the least is it’s very convenient location just a block away from the Metro and from the myriad of restaurants that surround the area. I would not hesitate returning to this hotel again on my next trip.

Positives:
- Good location, if you like staying in Chinatown (recommended area)
- Friendly, helpful, chatty staff (though I don't agree with all the political views we have talked about)
- Adequate rooms for the price
- Hairdrier provided
- TV with local channels!
- Plugs that have adapters
- Coffee and tea station

Negatives:
- Walls and especially windows are paper thin so depending on where your room will be facing you'll hear everything that is going on outside! So if you are sensitive to noise don't stay here. The hotel was pretty fully booked so don't think that depending on your first night experience you'll get a room change. We are not sensitive so this was not a problem.
- I had to use the WC at the reception area once, it was not so clean!

Stayed for 4 nights with our two teenagers. The location was excellent, right in the middle of Chinatown with MRT station at the end of the road. The room was a good size, with everything we needed and staff were helpful and friendly. Chinatown Point shopping centre is good for a quick and easy breakfast.

Hi, In the room where I was staying, there were two larger beds and then there was also a sofa that you could unfold into a bed. The description is right! Hope this helped!

Hi, are child cots available?
Answer from Shanaka Cooray

Hi. Cots are available free of charge. However we found the rooms smaller than usual and a cot makes the movable space even more cramped. This means that if you have luggage to store as well, it becomes quite uncomfortable to move around. So make sure you ask for the squire foot area of the relevant room since as stated on my original review the photos do make the rooms look bigger then they really are Having said that Hotel Mono does have some good positives as well, its close to Chinatown and the MRT and is clean Good luck with your choice. Best regards S

Hi Teresa, there's a tinted glass door between bedroom and bathroom but sneaking in and out is possible. The transparent door is the one between the shower and the toilet, and no curtain. Hope this helps.
