Takes around 15 minutes walking distance to reached main road. The staff very helpful. Room is good except for the smell of the cigarette that circulated in the room. Lots of Muslim restaurant and stall especially near the main road. Food was delicious at Mr Teh Teh Tarik and its open 24 hours. Will stay again at this hotel when...

Hotel interior design is nice and calming with the touch of Japanese. Easy to get taxi and easy to find a place to eat. U can just walk within 5- 7minutes to Joo Chiat...

In-room facilities include wifi, hot shower, air con, electric kettle, tv, hairdryer and a very small 1m tall cupboard. The room is not sound-proof at all. Noise from the...

I recently got stuck in Singapore due to a smoke haze in Penang. The accommodation booth at the airport recommended this hotel. It was terrible for the price I paid $110AUD. Very small room, noisy, and the bathroom design was extremely dangerous. No shower screen allowed water to completely cover the bathroom floor making it extremely slippery. The hotel was...

This hotel was my first hotel when visit Singapore. It served me well since I am a new traveler. Located in red light district eventhough I don't feel the difference with other area because my visit schedule is in Ramadhan month. I got a room with no window so the air circulation is not too good. However, if you want...

Staying in Joo Chiat

Neighbourhood Profile
Joo Chiat
The Joo Chiat area is the traditional home of Peranakan culture in Singapore, an ethnic group descending from the blending of Chinese and Malay families in the 15th century. The neighbourhood is packed with colourful shops, local characters, and quiet charm. The main streets overflow with diners enjoying katong laksa, the signature Peranakan spicy noodle soup. Signs of youthful entrepreneurship are visible as well, with modern cafes, bars, and shops abounding. Visit Joo Chiat to take a break from the big city sights and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a laid-back and local vibe.
