We arrived after 2 days travelling due to storms in UK
After getting our rooms showering putting on lips we staggered to eat something
Down to the restaurant in a ‘mind of it’s own lift’ we reached the restaurant where we came back to life!!
Meal beautiful ...squash soup and Chocolate lava with ice cream
Mmmmmmmmmm
The service was good ,the waiters full of humour and the surroundings very pleasant
Then up to 27 th floor to see a magnificent view of Singapore at night...what a feast for the eyes...lights every where
But the rain poured down so we hastily retreated from balcony and into bed sleeping 13 hours..phew we are human today

My partner checked in to the hotel and we stayed there for about 3 nights. The first room we were in , we couldn't sleep at night. The room was tiny but still bearable but the toilet was big. The bed was very uncomfortable with every movement felt whenever the other person moved even an inch. Airconditioning was either blowing too cold or not cold enough throughout the whole night, was loud as well so both of us could hardly catch a wink. To top it off, TV was not working though we called 3 times for an engineer to come fix it. They only come end day and said cannot fix, said will come back tomorrow to try again. Really?
We called for a change of room the next day and we moved to a bigger room but very tiny bathroom. Can't have both of both worlds when the room comes at a very decent price right?

Walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbors loud and clear, with doors opening and closing even far from you. So avoid this place if you are light sleeper.

The only good thing is that the location is smack in the middle of the city with plenty of malls and food choices and easily accessible public transport.

Service in the hotel is really on the borderline of average. In great need of a renovation desperately.

Coming back again ? Let's think on this.

Reception was busy when I arrived, but I was checked in relatively quickly by a friendly receptionist. I was assigned a room in the Peninsula tower; the other tower is called Excelsior, thus the double name of the hotel. The receptionist said that the rooms in both towers are equal in terms of quality and size.

The room was small, almost cramped, and screamed 1995 all over the place. It was worn out but clean. The bed was rock hard and gave me back pain, but on request, they brought an extra mattress pad the next day and after that it was okay. Make sure to ask for that if necessary. There was no socket by the bed (who would have needed that in 1995?). The room came with a desk+chair, armchair+coffee table, fridge (was turned off), safe (was broken), A/C (worked fine) and wifi (worked fine). There were two 0.6 L water bottles, replenished daily.

The bathroom came with a bathtub and good water pressure in the handheld shower. They had installed a new tap at the sink, and water pressure here was awful, probably because the new tap was designed to save water, or something. Soap, shampoo and bath gel were provided in individual minibottles, which I appreciate as those wall-mounted containers many hotels choose to put up on their bathroom walls to save money are not very hygienic. Shaving and dental kits were also provided.

Breakfast was served from 6:30 to 10:30 and cost 32,30 SGD including taxes. It was an average 4-star buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, basic hot items, low quality cold cuts, fried eggs, and a limited number of Indian and Chinese hot items.

There were two pools, the "still" pool and the "fall" pool. The fall pool is right opposite reception and was the busier one of the two. The still pool was always very quiet. Towels are available at the pool or in the gym. The pools were open from 7 am to 9 pm.

While the hotel is in desperate need of a total renovation and is not worth its four stars anymore, it nevertheless enjoys an excellent location in central Singapore, close to City Hall MRT and Boat Quay with all the restaurants. There are plenty of shopping opportunites close by, a money changer with fair rates a few steps from the entrance and a 7Eleven across the street. All members of staff were friendly and helpful.

While the hotel is far from perfect, this is also reflected in the prices they charge, and I might very well stay here again if the price is right.

My friend and it had booked and pre-paid for our accommodation prior to leaving Australia but on check-in were informed that we would have to pay an additional $50 a night to cover incidentals but were then informed that this was not necessary. We were then allocated rooms on the 8th floor of the hotel which were disgraceful to say the least. The room was old, dilapidated, dirty, stank and the entrance door had obviously been broken into as the lock was hanging off. I won't even begin to describe the bathroom which was disgusting. And why the request to pay for incidentals as there weren't any! Totally unacceptable so my friend and I complained to reception and were allocated much better rooms on the 16th floor. The only other thing to mention is don't expect to get a lift in a hurry as the hotel without going into ethnicity is full of rude people who just barge in front of you and generally have no manners whatsoever. Avoid this hotel it is a disgrace and definitely not 4 Star!

I'm writing you this review for the wonderful service experience me and my friend had with Farah from Craft bistro on 29 Jan 2020.

We were wandering at the lobby area deciding where to settle our dinner. Farah was alert and and spotted us. She was very patience in answering all our queries. During our dining, she was very attentive to us and her warmth hospitality made us feel very welcomed.

As it was raining heavily and we couldn't get to outdoor for our puff, we approached Farah for the nearest indoor smoking area.

She was quick to act upon our request and allowed us to use the club house balcony which was meant for hotel’s guest upon checking with the club manager.

We were impressed by Farah’s excellent customer service who went the extra miles for us.

Research has shown - it's take 12 good service experience to make up for 1 bad service experience.

Great service is the longevity of every business aspects.

We are truly touched by Farah’s warmth personality and we had such a great time taking lots of photos, seeing the panaroma view of Singapore and creating happy memories.

Thank you for the wonderful experience, we will definitely be back for more occasions or gathering at Peninsula Excelsior Hotel.

Best Regards

Juliet Koh

I've stayed here approximately for a month and so far it has been a moderatly bad experience. There is no coinwash nearby and when you go for the reception, the arrogant staff will tell you a random time it might be avaliable, however if you are not at your room at the excact time they call you, you will have to wait for days again. For a four-star hotel, it is one of the worst service experiences I've ever encountered so far. Besides that, the room smells of smoke so if you're a non-smoker i recomend that you book somehwere else, as there are plenty of nicer opportunities than this outdated hotel in Singapore.

Stayed here for two nights , we have stayed here previously years back and thought our room was tired looking it was quite small but had everything you needed . The staff were helpful even whilst going through the covid 19 crisis. The location is good across the road from the metro station and an easy walk to Clarke quay , sun city and a 25 minute walk to gardens on the bay.

I am always mindful of the price of the hotel when writing a review and in view of this find that this hotel surpassed expectations.
It is literally on the main square within walking distance of Raffles etc, 1 minute from the subway and next to a great food centre, where one could find ample choice of the freshly prepared delicacies Singapore is famous from.

Lovely rooms, lovely swimming pool, very good value.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I really was disappointed about this hotel given the cost. The location is good as it is centrally located and close to metro and other major attractions, but the rooms are not impressive. The bed was comfortable. The biggest mistake we made was prepaying for the breakfast buffet. This needs a huge improvement. The food was no better than a Marriott Courtyard hotel. It was pretty obvious the fruit was canned fruit. I highly suggest to save your money and go to one of the many places near the hotel. I also felt like I was being forced to eat at the sky lounge as we were "given access". The view is spectacular, but it's really "access" to the restaurant where everything is overpriced.

I was looking for a central base in Singapore so that I could check out lots of different sights by the bay and further afield They don't come any more central than this one. It was so handy for being able to take the MRT from City Hall station. If you're like me and a hotel is basically just a place to sleep so that you can explore by day, this place is superb and has a really affordable price tag. A couple of small problems arose during the stay, and all were quickly rectified by attentive staff. What did disappoint me was the single bed. When you pay for a hotel for a solo stay, you always dream of a nice large bed to spread out and sleep comfortably. Unfortunately, the single bed just didn't quite hit the mark. Staff placed two single beds together, but the bedding was still for a single so I couldn't make the most of a second bed. That said, I did find that concierge staff were helpful, pointing me in the right direction when I needed advice. I would recommend this place for its outstanding location on Coleman St.

Greetings from Singapore. The hotel is currently under refurbishment until the end of July, rebranding to Wyndham Singapore. The hotel has 2 towers, the Peninsula Tower and the Excelsior Tower. In our current phase, the refurbishment is on the Excelsior tower and is estimated to be completed by the end of May. Guest are placed in the other tower. Once we have completed the Excelsior Tower, we will allocate guests to the Excelsior tower when the Peninsula tower will be closed for the final phase of refurbishment. Our hotel is ideally located less than 5 minutes walk to the City Hall MRT station with access to many parts of Singapore. In the meantime, thank you for your kind patience with us. We look forward to the pleasure of welcoming you to the Wyndham Singapore.
