This place can be easy to miss if you don't keep your eyes peeled for the sign that says "Hotel Clover The Arts" just outside the hotel. The hotel blends in together with the rest of the shophouses and can remain conspicuous to the uninitiated.

The hotel reception is a very simple counter. After checking your identity, taking your credit card details, the key card is given with the wifi password access. The room which I was first given had an air conditioner which was too noisy. It's not a low hum, instead I could literally hear the running gears from the unit. The air conditioners are a tad old and should be maintained properly, if not replaced. I asked for a replacement room and was given quite promptly.

The next room's air conditioner was also noisy but bearable. Not wanting to make things difficult for the hotel staff, I just let it be. The room was clean but small (12m2), which i had already expected when booking the accommodation.

Many amenities were provided. Extra toilet roll, electric kettle, toiletries, toothbrush. The toilet was a little annoying as the toilet seat couldnt hold the seat in place and kept falling. The bedside light was also not working.

There is an elevator which takes people up to the 5th floor. The table is really small and can fit only laptop with just a little space for the mouse.

Location wise this is great as it's easily accessible by MRT, and there are plenty of food and shopping options. With Central Clarke Quay and Chinatown Point within 10min walk, this place is in a fabulous location.

This hotel will be suitable for those looking for a no frills kind of hotel. Just beware of the noisy air conditioner and request for a room change if you given a room with one, unless you don't want to sleep well at night.

Good location, 2 minutes walking to Singapore River and 10 minutes for hostoric centre, among 3 subway stations, quite good as a base to explore the mini-country.
Room is quite basic and narrow, can't complain as it is a ecconomical option anyway.
One small suggestion,no "DON'T DISTURB" label available, was waken up twice in early noon time when I was having sleep avoiding the hot noon. And it was supposed to be avoided easily...

Friendly, helpful staff, convenient location, clean room. Room was very small, couldn’t open my suitcase up properly unless it was on the bed. Toilet was also in tiny space - couldn’t sit on the toilet unless was sideways due to the closeness to the wall. Shower was a decent size however.

Stayed here for 2 nights in November 2022. I booked via Agoda and had 2 options, superior single or superior single without window. From this I presumed the superior single had a window, but when I got to my room after checkin I found that the room didn’t have a window, so I complained and all the girl at reception said was that all single superior room didn’t have a window and if I wanted to complain here is Agoda’s number. But the hotel should also have responsibilities for their selling agents. I tried to explain the 2 option when I booked, but the girl on reception had very poor english and couldn’t work out what my complaint was. The room was so small I barely had room for my very small hold-all. The shower had cold water, no breakfast offered. When I left at 5.30am the 24 hour reception was not manned (just a not to say to phone a number if a problem). So that is not 24 hour reception as advertised. Avoid this hotel at all costs as the staff are very unprofessional, small rooms with cold showers and reception not 24 as advertised!!

Where do I start....hmmmm....firstly, not too far a walk (about 5-10 minutes) to the Clarke Quay MRT which is very pleasing. I note that quite a few budget hotels look like they are within walking distance of the MRT, although they aren't, but this hotel definitely is. No breakfast, and not fancy - a tiny room, and the one I had was windowless. However, that is what you get in Singapore for a budget price. I did notice the showers did not seem to have anything stronger than tepid water, so hot water fans may miss out (you might want to check with reception about that as it could have just been my room), however Singapore is not a place where a hot shower is a necessity! The staff really really really (and I mean really) go out of their way to be helpful with lots of helpful suggestions for travellers like me who want to explore or shop. In particular, both Jonathan and Cheryl deserve special praise, although all staff were friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the bed quality is superb with a capital "S". I cannot remember how long it has been since I have had a hotel bed so comfortable. I am a poor sleeper but here I slept like a baby. There is a rooftop area that has been closed due to the pandemic, and hopefully that will open up in the future. All in all a great deal.

Hotel with nice location just a walk to the clarkle quey mrt and mall. single person room a little small and no windows. the wall in the bedroom covered with nice arts, bathroom a little small but ok. The price per night of this hotel are pretty fair because everything in Singapore already became really expensive.

We stayed here for 24 hours as we were “in transit”. Great location near an MRT and shops/cafes/Starbucks. Easy walk up to Chinatown. Rooms were small but adequate. We had one single and 2 doubles all with no windows. For 24 hours they were perfectly fine. Hallways and hotel was a little tired looking and the back entrance is in an alleyway. Only gripe would be that we contacted hotel to say we wouldn’t be there till after 11 pm and they assured us the reception was manned 24 hours - but it wasn’t. And when you arrive after a long trip and just want to check in you can get a bit grumpy - we ended up having to ring the fit act number through the website to find someone. Other then that the hotel was fine for what it was used for.

Very tiny room. Just exact amount of space for me and my suitcase. Clean and good staff on the reception. Wish they at least offered complimentary breakfast along with the stay. Location was good as its on the main street and convenient for bus travel too as there is a bus stop right opposite the hotel.

Small room, but the room rate is justified for what you get in this expensive city. You may not have too much space if you have a large luggage with you. Facilities are basic, but sufficient for your stay. Location is very good. Close to Clake Quay where night life is. It takes around a 5-10 min walk to metro station.

Is there a hotel shuttle from the airport
Answer from greasystains
Singapore, Singapore457 contributions70 helpful votes
Closest MRT is Clarke Quay situated on the northeast line. If you’re coming from the airport, take the eastwest line to outram and change to the northeast line to Clarke Quay. From there it’s a short 10min walk to the hotel. Use google maps to guide you from the MRT to the hotel. Download the offline maps at home first you don’t want to use data roaming. :)

I suppose it depends on the time of the day, I arrived pretty late at night (like 11 pm) and it only took like 15-20 mins. It's not really that far.
