We had a really great stay at Hostal Emalafquen. The hostess is the sweetest lady. She does only speak Spanish, but our travel vocabulary did just fine. The hostal is clean, have a well equipped kitchen and is placed really centrally in Pucon. We were lucky being here in low season so we had a whole little house to our...

We stayed for 4 nights and absolutely fell in love with the place. Señorita Emma is the perfect hostess and can't do enough to help you. Anything you need is never a problem. The hostel is IMMACULATE, absolutely spotless everywhere. And the rooms / bathrooms comfortable, spacious and quiet. We ended up cooking every night we stayed at this hostel,...

My wonderful host Emma invited me to feel like I was at home, and in this place that is easy to do. My room was very comfortable and spacious - good bed, good, shower, good TV, good heating. The shared kitchen is very well stocked for all your self catering needs. The dining room is a little dim and there...

The hostal is located a few minutes walk ffrom the main streets in Pucon. The hostal is kept spotless and the rooms are a decent size with comfortable beds. The staff make you feel very welcome and will try and answer any questions you may have.

This is more like a small hotel than a hostel since rooms have private bathroom and a TV! but in addition there is a well-equipped kitchen. The location is great for walking to restaurants. The owner, Emma is on the premises all day and available for any thing you need to know. If you are travelling in a group in...

We had a very good time at hostel Emalafquen. Valentina (the owner) came to pick us up at the bus station and made us feel very welcome. The hostel has great amenities and the beds are great! We couldn´t get up in the morning :-) Valentina was helpful and gave us tips about everything in Pucon. We recommend this hostel...

The hostel, located a convenient block away from the main bus terminals, has more of the B&B vibe than a backpackers' hostel feel. The two ladies running the hostel are great and very hospitable. The hostel comprises three separate buildings, each with its own kitchen and living room. In low season, you have the whole building to yourself. It's almost...

LOVED this place. My family of 5 had our own cabana with two bedrooms, and a full well equipped kitchen in the cabana. Emma, the owner, and Valentina, were both amazingly friendly and helpful. Valentina spent an evening with me and my family teaching us how to make Empanadas! The place was warmed by a wood burning stove, into which...

Very friendly staff who are willing to help. No English is spoken though so the helpfulness will depend on your Spanish proficiency. As the majority of rooms are doubles/twins it is mainly couples who stay here so it may be challenging to meet other travellers. There are three separate buildings. Each building has its own kitchen & common area so...

“The cabanas were great, but we never saw the rooms in the main hostal area.”
LoriWynn, 13 Mar 2014 | Read review
“We were in the little cabin in the back. Nice because it was just two rooms, but when there are 5 people in there, it's pretty cramped! Only one person in the kitchen at a time because of the layout. It was quieter in the back. The room with two beds got a lot of sunlight during the day so was quiet warm, but it cools down considerably at night.”
