La Nona is the old family home of the host Rene, Nona being his mother. He and Nona live there with his wife and twin daughters plus the 4 rooms for guests. Breakfast was simple but great, down to the home made yogurt. Rene was an excellent source of information on Valparaiso and even available for ad hoc wine tours...

We stayed in Valparaiso for a week of work and absolutely loved La Nona. Rene welcomed us with a tour of the place and presented us the surroundings on a map - very useful. Great location, the room was beautiful, as well as the inner backyard that was just in front of our door. Since our work started early, la...

I don't normally go to B&B's, but based on a recommendation we tried this one. It exceeded our expectations in every way. First, the breakfasts were superb. But the real pleasure was in conversing with Rene, the proprietor. He speaks good English, and shared with us both recommendations on what to do, as well as perspectives on local history and...

We arrived at the place and were warmly welcomed by the whole family. They made us feel comfortable right away. The B&B is very small and cosy. Rene gave us a lot of valuable tips for our stay. The breakfast is great. Liked the patio to relax and talk. Hope to come back one day to stay there longer.

La Nona was a fantastic hostel and B&B in Valparaiso. The host, Rene, is amazing, very friendly and helpful, and speaks very good english. The location is in a quieter area, but easily walkable to restaurants and the downtown/port area. The hostel itself has a great patio area if the weather is nice, and a kitchen. Breakfast is included and...

It ain't the Ritz, but the La Nona is a super-friendly place to stay in a well-located B&B on Cerro Alegre. Rene (who speaks good English and is very knowledgeable), his wife, mother, and twin daughters are kind-hearted and caring. I attended an excellent wine-tasting session there, and Rene was able to provide transport himself when taxis flaked out on...
