A really lovely old building full of original features and very homely. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely outdoor terrace, great for enjoying some Pisco Sours. Lots of interesting arty shops and good restaurants nearby as well as furnicular and a couple of the best house museums. Highly recommended.

It's been years since we went to this hotel but it still stands out as one of the nicest small hotels I've ever been in mostly because it truly allows you to experience what Valparaiso must have been during the hey dey. The former home of a potash magnate, the building is full of charming and authentic details - LEATHER...

We stayed there for two nights, and booked more than a year in advance so we could get one of their superior rooms with a balcony overlooking the bay. Nice interior, but could use a little renovation as this is a very old house. But all in all we were happy with our stay. The free was only working in...

The location on Cerro Conception close to the funicular is excellent. You can easily explore the nearby streets with their graffitis, restaurants and cafes. The view from our balcony overlooking the bay was beautiful. We loved the charm of the old house, it is wonderful to see that there are still hotels that retain the feeling of the old glamour....

This hotel is an old mansion converted into a well located boutique hotel. Situated in the old town, it's very convenient for restaurants and bars and exploration of the historical centre of this colourful town. As other reviewers have said, this place isn't for folk with impaired mobility or maybe families with small children. Stairs are very steep and narrow...

This was a fabulous place to stay, very central so you can walk everywhere or take the hill carts if walking is not your thing. Very close to a good section of restaurants and coffee shops. The staff are excellent and the breakfasts are great start to the day. The hotel is an old private premises turned into a small...

A great view, is about all we can say. This is not a place for seniors--no one to help with luggage; step stairs to get to rooms, and responsible for own luggage; front desk staff not helpful and at times rude; breakfast mediocre. Not worth $160.00 per night and we do not recommend staying here. Too, hotel arranged private transportation...

We apologize if our staff was not friendly and helpful, we always help the passengers with theirs luggage, it´s a shame that you didnt' receive help. We are sorry about that. Our rooms are not that expensive,...

The heritage and location of this former residence converted into a hotel, do not make up for the poor upkeep on the property. This building needs work!!! And if you are elderly or physically challenged this is not the hotel for you as room access, other than for a handful of rooms on the main floor, is via steep stairs....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel is the fruit of lengthy restoration work to recover one of the homes of greatest cultural value in the hills of Valparaiso, measuring more than 11,000 square feet. This house was built by European immigrants circa 1870. The imposing building, now transformed into a boutique hotel, uniquely portrays, through its welcoming setting, the lifestyles of the generations of families that lived on the hill. The house’s architecture takes you back in time to the mode of life at the end of the 19th century. Luxury refurbishings concordant to the comforts of a five-star hotel interweave discreetly throughout the patrimonial air in the house, creating just the right cross between tradition and modernness. ... more   less
