We stayed for a total of 4 nights over 3 separate occasions, and enjoyed every minute. You feel at home as soon as you walk in: the staff are very attentive , the courtyard is exquisite with an abundance of fresh cut flowers and orchids giving you the sense of a 1920's palm court. The breakfast room is light and...

Casa Gangotena topped our hotel stays from our most recent South America expedition. It is no wonder it has earned its place among top hotels in the world. The setting is spectacular on the Plaza de San Francisco. We were welcomed by extremely friendly staff and that carried over to our entire stay, from bartenders to doorman. We were (pleasantly!)...

A great boutique hotel convenient to key sites in the historic district. Soothing lobby filled with light and beautifully arranged fresh flowers. The concierge is very helpful, and there's a water cooler where you can fill up before heading out to explore the city. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Good breakfast buffet. Definitely grab a drink at the bar and...

We chose this hotel as a base for Quito and we were so happy that we did. New Town is like any other big city and although the park and restaurants were nice, we preferred to experience a hotel in the heart of the old Colonial area of Quito. The hotel is a restored mansion with beautiful rooms and a...

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. Every room is lovely, spacious and light-filled. The rooftop bar has a super view of Quito. The staff was impeccable. Late arrivals were met with a delicious housemade juice. When asked at the last second if there was a room to meet local artisans, they immediately offered the beautiful tearoom....

This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms are luxurious and well-appointed. Ours had a gorgeous big bathroom. The reception staff were really helpful, particualrly when we needed a large package sent back to the UK on a Sunday. The post office wasn't going to eb open til after we left, but they emailed me with three different postal options,...

Superb and convenient location, stunning architecture and lovely, friendly staff make this THE place to stay in Quito. The bedrooms are spacious, spotless and quiet. The kitchen staff and head chef produce food which would be equally acceptable in a Michelin starred restaurant anywhere in the world. The breakfast was simply lovely. I couldn't recommend this more, and would happily...

Casa Gangotena would be as at home in Paris or Madrid as Quito, Ecuador. Located near the center of the old city, it offers a convenient perch to visit the myriad of cathedrals and churches, museums, government buildings and palaces that comprise Quito. The Gangotena family boutique hotel is a five-star facility with service to match. The marble lobby and...

This hotel embodies grace and beauty in the center of old Quito - you are close to everything - great service, sweet bar and lovely restaurant. Wish we could have stayed a little longer. Our room was quiet and had a beautiful fresco on the wall - all the amenities

A last-minute decision for a light dinner had us ducking into the restaurant and lovely, cozy bar at the Casa Gangotena, a wonderful (and really beautiful) hotel in Old Town Quito. Unable to decide "what to do for dinner" on our first night in Quito, we decided to pop into the bar for a glass of wine and an opportunity...
