I arrived in Quito on 12/28 for a two night stay on the way to Guayaquil The Portal de Cantuña is an old convent. It is so charming and cozy. The staff was warm and friendly,so different from the big box hotels. Sonia and her staff went out of their way to help us when our car was blocked in...

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful furniture, the rooms have everything and are very clean. The owner Sonia went out of her way to help us with anything we needed and served us a big and generous breakfast every day. Everyone working at the hotel is so friendly. We will definitely be back when travelling to Quito again. Thank...

Great service on behalf of the staff and inn owner. They were great in answering our questions about the city, helping us get taxis, and arranging airport transportation. While the inn has a lot of character as a 200 year old house, the one negative aspect was our room did not have any windows and was often dark and damp....

This family run hotel is in the old town of Quito. The owner Sonia with two sons and staff take really good care of their guests. They are very helpful with planing tours or just pointing out local places. Everything is within walking distance, the Hop/on Hop/off, churches, museums, galleries, restaurants, bars, coffee houses, shops and street vendors etc. Friends...

The positives: The building itself - a converted convent - is gorgeous. There is a large sitting room and a dining room with tea/cookies. The breakfast was downstairs on the ground level in what seemed like converted stables. A very unique setup. It was fairly inexpensive. The negatives: First, the Wifi was TERRIBLE here. Literally on and off every 2...

Cancelled due to illness weeks prior to visit, emailed again and again and again with no response. Incredibly disappointed as it specifically said on the booking that 15 days or more prior to booking cancellations would be 100% reimbursed. After such severe illness it was the last thing I needed. Never again

3 couples stayed here for five days and we loved it! Converted old house with wonderful plant filled central courtyard very centrally located in old city. Lots of charm and historic artefacts. Sonya the proprietor is delightful. Breakfasts are great. Rooms are fine although you hear a lot of noise from the street but that didn't worry us. Couldn't recommend...

What a gem! beautiful common areas and lovely rooms. Everything was exceptionally clean and the room returned to perfection every day. my bathroom was small but efficiently designed. Doors aren't particularly sound proof but things quiet down early there. Breakfast in the cafe is to order and yummy. One morning i was rushing out to catch a bus and stopped...

We used this hotel as a base for a three week vacation, and stayed 8 nights both during time in Quito and between trips. The location in the old section of Quito is great, right next to Plaza San Francisco, although it is a little hard to find. The inside spaces are amazing, full of an eclectic mix of artifacts...

This boutique hotel is for the adventurous, the artist, the person who is charmed by antiques and history. Near the Plaza San Francisco in the historic area, it is conveniently located. The rooms surround an interior patio with a beautiful ceiling of glass birds. There is even a chapel with a sixteenth century Madonna. A very nice breakfast was included.
