Nice clean friendly hotel with old world charm. Breakfast simple but ok and serviced with very friendly staff. Outside rooms need to be renovated. Bathroom basin had a big crack which could have been dangerous. Room very noisy when it rains because of clear roof sheeting.

We stayed at the wonderful Cafe Cultura before we left for our trip to the Galapagos. They were lovely to deal with prior to our arrival (including helping us deal with our travel hiccup causing a delayed arrival). They even helped us arrange a driver to pick us up from the airport in Quito and drive us to the hotel,...

This lovely hotel seems like a trip back in time. The name "cafe" is a bit confusing since, though they have a nice dining area, it is a hacienda style hotel. The rooms are lovely. Very old fashioned. The staff is helpful. The location is great near a lot of restaurants and a wonderful local crafts market. Great base to...

We stayed here for two nights and it was really comfortable, spacious room and good beds, overall very good. Artisan market just around the corner with some nice wall paintings and a short walk to a square with restaurants and coffeeshops. Possible to walk to the old centre. No safe in the room but the hotel has some lockers similar...

A good place to relax. The place is very quiet, ambiance "tranquilo" close to the historic center of Quito. The bedrooms are elegant, the public area is warm and welcoming and the service aims to be excellent

A very interesting place feeing you are stepping back in time with lovely staircase and a library room full of interesting stuff lying around and on the walls. Well located in Quito for restaurants etc. Good breakfast.

The Art Deco decor throughout the hotel gives it an appeal, beyond that which the facilities of the hotel would normally attract. What we liked about this hotel was the excellent service from the front of house staff, they were always quick to assist or offer guidance. The location of the hotel was good, close to a souvenir market, a...

The essence of a good hotel is comfort & safety. Notwithstanding all the hype and pretence on its cultural and locational features, this hotel failed all the criteria for a comfortable and safe hotel as enumerated below: • Very small beds. • No air con to control room temperature. • No TV • No curtains to provide privacy and to...

This hotel was in the heart of Quito near a great local market and many restaurants offering US$3 two course lunches and a glass of juice. All staff were extremely helpful, spoke good English and we're very friendly. They would organise a price for excursions for you but being Ecuador you have to barter the price down on the phone....
