We thoroughly enjoyed a few nights at the San Francisco hotel in Quito - before and after our guided tour of beautiful and friendly Ecuador. The location is perfect - just down from Plaza San Francisco and 5 mins walk from both the main plaza as well as the restaurants of La Ronda It's a beautiful historic building with a...

We had a nice stay with a room to sleep 4 of us. Perfect location. Lovely place to go back to after a long day in Quito. Right next to a grocery store if you need anything. Airport pickup and drop off no problem.

We were 2 families of 3, arriving in Quito after a long flight and delighted in the open air and easy access of this beautiful old hotel. The staff was very helpful, filtered water available at all times, and a warm shower. Didn't get to spend much time in Quito but glad this was our home base while we were...

Dear guest, Thanks for taking the time to write about us! we really appreciate it. We are glad to know you liked our Hotel, it's one of the 5 oldest houses in Quito, and we tried to keep it as original in the last reconstruction. Kind regards,

Stayed 4 nights in March . The hotel is beautiful, a beautiful lobby, old building, etc. HOWEVER, you can hear ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING in the hotel. From who's doing what is what room, to who is in the lobby, to dogs barking up on the hill, to people talking on the street. There is no privacy, no insulation and no reduction...

Dear Guest, Thanks for your comments. We do have anti-noise doors and windows, the ones facing to the street, and walls, since it's a colonial house, are more than 1 meter wide, so that helps too to isolate the noise. kind regards,

Stayed for 4 nights before and after a couple group trips. Great old colonial building ... hot water takes time and wifi not in some rooms but in the public areas. ( Stone walls) Great character clean and great bi lingual service/ reception .. very helpful. Definitely would stay here again . In the heart of old town so you...

Dear Guest, Thanks for your comments, we really appreciate them, they are always very heplful for us. Yes, WiFi we guarantee in social areas, because since it's a colonial house, walls are more than 1 meter wide, so it's very difficult to have Wi Fi in all rooms. Kind regards,

A friend and I stayed here for one night on the way to the Galapagos. This is a very good hotel in an excellent situation in the old town. Our twin room was very comfortable and clean and breakfast was adequate.

We stayed 5 nights here. Our first room had no window and we asked to change it the following morning to bedroom 1 which had a window and a view to the interesting street below. The hotel is very cold and we asked for a heater for our room which helped considerably. I think gas heaters in the courtyard area...

This hotel is very nice looking, with a beautiful covered courtyard, and a terrific location in the historic center of Quito. But the rooms have no windows. The rooms have no A/C or heating units. I've never stayed at a hotel that had no infrastructure before. Breakfast is adequate.

Management response:

Dear Andru, Thanks for your comments, we appreciate them. This is one of the 5 oldest houses in Quito, a colonial House, in that time people liked their privacy and kept in doors, so Houses of that time don't really have too many windows or balconies, that's why some of our rooms have indoors windows, but they do have windows,...

Perfectly located for exploring the old town. Built round a pleasant courtyard offering a comfortable seating area for socialising with friends and other guests. Very helpful staff. Oozing history - the dining room was once a jail.

The rooms are fine. Internet was great. The staff were helpful. I was here new year's eve and nothing nearby was open for dinner nearby. The hotel has no restaurant, other than the included breakfast, which was really bad and chintzy. The interior lobby was quite pretty.
