A quaint hotel right in the middle of Quito Old Town. All the attractions are really close by, as are some day tour agencies. This has greatly helped my feeling of safety while traveling on my own. What helped further was the fact that there's good access control to the hotel. My room was just big enough, with good ventilation,... More

The hotel is located in the Centro Historic of Quito, in walking distance of some good museums, churches and restaurants - a great base for exploring. The hotel itself resembles an elegant family home, with old-fashioned but beautiful fittings and furnishings. The staff were unfailingly kind and efficient. We stayed for four nights initially, and then returned for two further... More

We were visiting family in Quito and decided spur of the moment to get a hotel room for the Good Friday procession. We found this hotel and were delighted. The renovations are exquisite! The architecture is beautiful with the old woodwork and the tiled roof. Make sure to walk around and see everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful.... More

This is a beautiful hotel decorated with Ecuadorean artwork and antiques. Our room was at the top and was a bit warm, but cooled off nicely with the windows open. It is very close to old town, and that is a busy area. You will hear outside noise. The staff was polite and helpful. If you want to visit the... More

Our large family stayed at the Hotel El Relicario del Carmen over the Christmas Holiday. The hotel's staff was gracious, professional and very accommodating to our needs during our brief stay. The food was outstanding. We enjoyed two delicious breakfasts and had a wonderful Holiday dinner while at the hotel. The rooms, although not large, were comfortable to sleep in.... More

Very friendly little hotel just two blocks from the main plaza in Quito's old town. I had a great room on the top floor with nice views of the town. Except for a church bell which clanged for a few minutes around 6:45 AM, it was very quiet. The public areas are stuffed with all kinds of art and antiques,... More

Checked in with 2 people and a 2 person reservation all fine. Then when we checked out 2 days later, they requested we pay another $180 since there was a 2nd person. We argued with them, and when they realized they were being ridiculous, they lowered the request to $120 despite my reservation on Kayak being for 2 people. Refused... More

This review does not reflect the truth. We received his reservation of a single room from International Vacation.com. He checked in with a friend and somehow obtained a double room. The management detected the error and asked for the additional payment of the second person. The receptionist showed him the document from International Vacation, clearly describing the requirement of a... More

A very secure hotel as you have to ring to have the front door opened! Whilst staff weren't always fluent in english and our spanish almost non existent, the staff were so helpful it just didn't matter. You couldn't ask for any more from staff, very caring and attentive to your needs. Lobby area is gorgeous and breakfast room lovely... More

Arriving into Quito around 10pm and then driving from the airport arriving into the city can be a long 1.5 hrs. The very winding roads and steep inclines with deserted streets makes you wonder where you are- and if the driver knows where he is going. Pulling up to the street lined door hotel at 11:30pm we were sure we... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A truly historic house, dating back to 1705 has just opened it??s door as a hotel with 18 comfortable rooms. It is beautifully renovated with great emphasis on the original details and has all the comfort expected today, including a central air conditioning system. All the furniture is handmade by recognized Ecuadorian artisans and many original paintings decorate public and private areas. You will live in a real historic surrounding. The hotel is definitely declared non-smoking. It is located a block away from the main square "Plaza de la Independencia", the Government Palace and very close to many historic monuments of Quito.
